I was going to buy it until I saw the word 'chunky' - as if someone with a normal vocabulary had written the post. So my question is, where is the real Susie Dent, and what have you done with her. 🧐

They're livid all the time, about everything. Because that's just how all stupid people react to complexity: anger.

Not arguing against helplines. I think those who want help should get it - and by 'help' I mean *actual*, properly funded help that can materially change people's lives - not just someone on the other end of a phone going through a script.

My view is, if we don't own our own self, we own nothing. How can you 'own' a house, or a car, or a pen - if you don't 'own' the thing (you) that's doing the 'owning'? If you want to stop living, it's no one's right to assume ownership of your body. The whole idea is both absurd and offensive.

My view entirely. "Judge people on the content of their character, not the colour of their skin" (or gender, sexuality or physical/mental ability). We are all humans and we have to learn to share this tiny planet with as much kindness and fairness as possible. Have a good day. 🙏

No worries. 😊

If you are implying I'd be interested in you sexually, even were the safety of the Universe to depend on it, then that's even more insane than the nazism and genocide you've been promoting. Some people are ugly on the inside; some on the outside. Few manage both. I guess you are special after all.
comment in response to post
Again, I'm not taking to you. I'm talking to the person who has literally said she hates all 4 billion males and wants them to die. I think if you reread this thread you'll see that you and I don't disagree and that you have mistaken my responses to another person as attacks on you. They were not.
comment in response to post
I don't engage with people who espouse Nazi ideology. Not verbally, anyway.
comment in response to post
Yes I realise you hate men to the point that you find the idea of 4 billion human beings dying to be, if not actively exciting, at least nothing to feel sad about. My point is that this is nothing to be proud of. In fact it's pathological.

Oh dear. 🤦 To clarify: I am saying that the person I am arguing with (who isn't you, for goodness sake) is a Nazi because they believe that biology dictates who are superior and inferior humans - and that is the core of Nazi ideology. I do NOT believe this - and I stand against anyone who does.
comment in response to post
Some women are smart; some are not. The same is true of men and trans people. Biology does not confer superiority. I can't believe this is a controversial position. For example, a smart person would be able to tell whether or not the comment they think was addressed to them, was.
comment in response to post
Believing in intrinsic moral superiority based on biology is literally the ideology of Nazis.
comment in response to post
Do you see calls to not discriminate based on race and gender as being on a high horse? What would not being on a high horse look like to you? The opposite of that?
comment in response to post
"I am superior to you based solely on biology". I bet you think you're different from Andrew Tate and David Duke don't you?
comment in response to post
I know a bigot when I see one and so I'm going to stop wasting my time pointing out our shared values and let you get on with hating people based on biology.
comment in response to post
Sexism and racism is ugly, reductionist and harmful no matter who does it. Imagine your reaction if I'd dismissed you, and all your thoughts and insights, merely because of your gender or race. You'd be, I would hope, (rightfully) disappointed by such a bigoted view of our common humanity/values.
comment in response to post
"Why? Because they're white and they have money." You're almost there. Just need to lose the three words between 'because' and 'they' - and you're onto something. Can't you you see that they want us fighting a race war and a gender war so we don't realise we're in a class war? And we're losing?
comment in response to post
"As a country we don't put white men in jail". The Bureau of Prisons and 87 thousand prisoners beg to differ. Stop making this about race and start realising it's about class. Change it to, "As a country we don't put rich people in jail" and you're onto something.

I feel it's possible that Churchill was most of the things his detractors say *and also* most of the things his admirers say. But of course this is social media, where everything and everyone is either 100% right/good or 100% wrong/bad and nuance is impossible - so I'm not even going to bother fini

On the bright side he hasn't capitalised 'his'. Yet.
comment in response to post
I'd hope he would. But I think the Establishment would just up their character (or even actual) assassination to ensure he never got anywhere near the levers of power. They have their own tame 'Labour' 'leaders' for that.

Reeves doesn't give The slightest fuck about you and neither does Starmer. I don't know why people are still expecting anything other than neoliberal drudge from either of them. They're indistinguishable from Cameron and Osborne. Although at least the latter two didn't think Brexit was a good idea.
comment in response to post
Doubt. As soon as he told the Establishment he was coming for their money, his days were numbered. Decency is not to be tolerated in England.

Sorry.

Brexit is almost worth it if it makes Clarkson weep. I mean it's not. But it almost is.
comment in response to post
The irony of the 2A fanatics not realising THIS is exactly what the 'well-armed militia' was actually for.
comment in response to post
For those struggling to understand why Starmer & Co seemingly have no interest in helping the poor/addressing the disgusting disparity in wealth and power in the UK, the answer is simple: they have no interest in helping the poor/addressing the disgusting disparity in wealth and power in the UK.

I'd like Obergruppenführer Miller to point us to *any* line in the Constitution where they refer to '300M citizens'. Conservatives treat the Constitution like they treat the Bible: the bits that suit their biases exist, and the bits that don't, don't.

That's not true. I got 'found' a few times on Tinder. Here's a quick guide: Be kind. Be genuinely interested in them. Be clean and smell nice. Don't talk about yourself all the time. Make them laugh. Make them feel seen. It's not hard. Women are humans - and humans like to feel seen.

It's not untrue that there is a significant subset of women who will try harder to please a shitty partner than an amiable one. This is also true for men.

I wouldn't even be mad, tbh.

"*Just* to fight fascism." 🙄
comment in response to post
Phrases like 'ablelist slurs' are exactly the sort of irritating sanctimony that pushes the general public towards scum like Trump. Using them to virtue signal against would-be allies is even more self-defeating. Anyone willing to fight fascists should be considered a comrade.

I could be arguing in my spare time. Although I have fewer of it than I used to.

'Was it ever an actual rule though?' Yes. How long do you want to keep doing this btw? Weeks or months?

On the right side of history yet again, Mr C. The people of the UK should be ashamed of themselves. We always *say* we want a decent PM who looks out for the ordinary person - but when we finally get the chance of one, we crucify him. If you look at the data, we actually want selfish lying shits.

Fucking do it then, 'Chuck' - you useless bag of shite.

I know. I'm so, so sorry.

Doubt he can even muster a stream like that tbh. I'm envisaging a couple of dark brown drips off that tiny shrivelled mushroom at most. (Apologies to anyone who can read and needs to sleep any time soon.)

It's not a 'supposed' rule though, is it? 'Supposed' would mean a rule that is imagined to exist, but doesn't. Fewer/less for countable/uncountable verbs is an actual rule. You should have gone with 'contested'not 'supposed', innit?
