THAT is how we should cover trump’s claims of inherent power or his intent to run for a third term. not as something allowed by some unforeseen loopholes (“the card says moops!”) but as a statement that he intends to ignore the constitution altogether in pursuit of power. (5)

the constitution enumerates powers for the executive. it was also amended to specifically limit executive service to two full terms. “i found a loophole that gives me unlimited power and also a third term” is just another way to say “i have decided to ignore the constitution in favor my will.” (4)

2/ It started with the endorsement of political violence. By pardoning the Jan 6th protesters, Trump sent a clear signal that violence on his behalf would be protected.
Of course this quells citizens' enthusiasm to join the opposition - if there is a chance they could get hurt.

6/ And this is just a sample. The campaign is relentless and planned.
Democracies don't die in a single moment. You just wake up one day, and the regime has so badly crippled the opposition that they can't compete in elections.
This is where we are heading if we don't wake up.

Congress has the authority and responsibility to direct federal spending based on the needs of their constituents. Turning that work over to the White House puts important programs like NOAA experts working on salmon recovery or creating weather forecasts at risk. (4/4)

This isn't a fight between progressives and moderates. The House Democratic Caucus was practically unanimous in its opposition to the bill. This is a struggle between those of us who are willing to fight back against authoritarianism and those who aren't. We deserve leaders who share our commitment.

There is absolutely nothing going on here that will save money or improve governmental efficiency. That’s a total farce. (3/3)

Making DST permanent is a complete waste of resources. Focus on saving our democracy and preserving our public resources and services.

It's just enormously important to understand that the goal of this tariff policy isn't to raise money or to increase manufacturing in the United States. The goal is to make some of the nation's largest companies subject to Trump's personal discretion and dependent on his favor.
