Elon, your boy lost because people don't like you and your Muskovites.

I just watched Howard Lutnick on CBS News. Two things stand out. We're screwed and Lutnick is an unmitigated idiot.

Thanks for the explanation. He's grasping at straws. A quorum in person not being present would negate any voting, proxy or otherwise.
comment in response to post
I've seen several instances of Johnson saying proxy voting is unconstitutional. I've read the Constitution many times, including today, and can find zero mentions of proxy voting. Am I missing something? If so, can someone please enlighten me?

JD once more confirming that he is an idiot.

Although my wife occasionally refers to me as an ass, I'm not obnoxious and don't own any red clothing, so we should be fine.

We are going to spend five weeks in Scotland starting next month. Should we announce our disapproval of the current administration right away, hope no one recognizes us as Americans, or try to pass as Canadians?

There is no bipartisanship. It disappeared a long time ago. Now, it's us against them. Appeasing the enemy doesn't work. Just ask Neville Chamberlain. Yes, Dick, I know he's dead, but you could read a history book.

He's not running for re-election, which makes his yes vote even more egregious.

Thank you for your no vote on cloture for the Republican CR monstrosity. I wish Sen. Peters had half the spine you do. Also, thanks for the town hall last night. My wife and I watched it, and we appreciate all your efforts.

Shameless! I have supported you throughout your Senate career, but no more. Thankfully, you are retiring, and I can vote for someone with a spine.
comment in response to post
They're already doing that, numbnuts!
comment in response to post
Apparently, you haven't read the CR. Passing it would give Donald Trump the keys to the city, state, and country. Do the right thing and vote NO.

Senator Schumer: If you care at all about the future of Democracy in America, you will vote no on the Republican CR. Your submitting to right-wing thuggery will be a stain forever on your tenure as Senator.
comment in response to post
Senator Peters, don't besmirch what has been a stellar career by voting for this garbage CR. You are better than that.

It can get murky. It's been a long time since I looked at the UCMJ, but I was just an MP, not a JAG. I really hope it doesn't come to that.
comment in response to post
I believe that refers to "lawful" orders according to the UCMJ. I don't consider invading Canada, Panama, or Greenland on a whim legal.
comment in response to post
That is 100% correct, and as far as I know, there is no mechanism to unswear to it. I haven't and don't intend to.

Pudding would be an improvement. It's more like sawdust.

This is disgraceful. As a veteran and patriotic American, I honor and cherish every veteran resting there and all the other National Cemeteries. This is just one more shameful episode of the current administration.

Every time he opens his mouth, he makes Tuberville and Boebert look like geniuses. I am so ashamed that America could elect this dolt.

Count me in! I love Canada.

Right, let's put a war criminal in charge of deportations.

This isn't a football game, numbnuts. It's the impending eradication of life as we know it.

I don't know yet, but I'm one of them, and it ain't gonna be pretty.

Some of my ancestors were those religious nuts. It's taken 400 years, but I think I'm somewhat sane, religion-wise anyway. Other aspects might be questionable.

Alina Habba isn't fit to be considered part of the human race.

If that means being a MAGA Christian, no thanks. I'll keep on being a woke heathen.

Before the election, I had an ominous feeling and told my financial advisor to do what he could to Trump-proof my retirement accounts. We're okay so far, but I'm not holding my breath.

It's only a matter of time until the jackbooted brownshirts are marching in our streets, enforcing whatever asinine edict that spews out of the orange dictator's mouth. Say goodbye to democracy.

The time change seriously affected me when I was working, the Spring change was the worst. Now that I'm retired, it doesn't bother me. I go to bed when I'm sleepy and get up when I'm not, but I have a lot of sympathy for those still suffering from these changes.

He should regret that vote along with all the other Democratic Senators, including both of mine. I have expressed my disappointment with them for that vote. One would think that after all this time, they should know Republicans lie as long as they are breathing.
comment in response to post
I have no intention of watching the lie fest it will be. I think I can find some Sponge Bob reruns that would be more informative and entertaining.

That's the biggest load of crap I've ever read since forever. I doubt that Trump can even spell chess. I don't know who McCune is but he's definitely a moron.
comment in response to post
I swore that oath 56 years ago and am still bound by it. Supporting Trump and his minions would be a betrayal of that oath.
comment in response to post
Yes, unless you are a Republican politician. They speak deceitful, fraudulent, and untrustworthy language. The occupant of the White House speaks gibberish.
