So it sounds like both Dalman AND Fries didn’t want to come and wasn’t over money.

Yeah, you’re probably right. It’s funny I’m coming across on here like I’m a huge JS supporter, I’m really not. I’m just saying let’s let the process play out, and if all they added was bunch of nobodies? Pitchfork time

I’m not sure we heard the same segment. He was using some sort of ratings done by others. Not by his calculations. It’s fine, I’m not here to defend Hugh. But he sure as hell knows a lot more than me.

Yeah but anybody can see that those QBs CAN win the SB. They just haven’t. I and many other felt Geno couldn’t

I don’t know if they were incorrect. He was just stating where Min’d line ranked versus Seattle’s when I was listening to him

The season hasn’t started yet. We don’t know if he’s coming to a worse team. I’m just saying let’s give them a little bit of time. I’ll be the first to criticize them if they don’t do anything.

Ok. I mean there are other people too. But seemed to me like he was just stating facts.

We saw Geno play for NYJ and NYG too, so we “wrote him off” right?
comment in response to

I’m not actively doing anything. I’m just making a point that there’s a case to be made to move on from him. And that he’s not Pat Mahomes. I liked Geno, and I was good with him coming back on a decent contract. Not what he wanted.

Have you listened to Hugh Millen? He had stats saying Min’s line wasn’t all that much worse than Seattle’s.
comment in response to
post
Right but were they ever gonna win the SB with him? I just didn’t see that. I just didn’t see a QB worth playing 40-45 mill for a long term that he wanted. I guess we disagree on his evaluation, which is fine. I’m just saying there’s a case to be made that it’s a good move.

Again, I don’t think we can say “lateral at best” yet. We haven’t even seen the guy play for the hawks yet. Gutting the WR room because Lockett was never staying and DK wanted out. And you wanted to keep Grubb?
comment in response to

Moving on from their “franchise” qb is not the same, to be fair. Also from their star WR. I feel like they’ve held on to players way too long with Pete

Sure I get that. But i said this earlier, seems like they just missed out on two that they were targeting. And the one didn’t want to come to Seattle. It’s all conjecture, but don’t know just getting anybody is also a good plan. I’m just saying I’m willing to let it play out a little more.

I’m also tired of people acting like we just traded Pat Mahomes when in fact we traded a decent to a good QB. (I’m not saying specifically you Tim)
comment in response to

I’m tired of being mediocre. It’s the worst place to be in the nfl. If taking a chance on a different QB and fail, then at least they tried. But they can’t keep doing the same thing over and over and expect different results.

Sure 1 year of Darnold doesn’t equal 3 of Geno. But he’s proven over and over that he’s a 7-11 win guy at best. I’m willing to let a guy like that walk and not give him 40-45 mill (or more) for a chance to be better.

I’m not so sure that you can say if JS didn’t make the trades that he has more time to negotiate? Is there proof to that? Plus I just don’t know getting any o linemen is a way to go. I get Dalman and Fries would have been upgrades but others???
comment in response to

to a guy coming off a major leg injury is understandable.
I’m willing to let FA play out a bit and then decide.
I’m not trust JS guy btw. He should be fired if hawks have a same or worse year than 2024
comment in response to

I’m not sure that you can say they downgraded on QB. Darnold had similar and in some cases much better stats than Geno.
Sure it’s frustrating they haven’t added on o line but sounds like Dalman didn’t want to come and not offering a 5 year deal (that *nobody has offered yet this year to anybody)

Huh? The Seahawks got younger, cheaper and got a third round out of the deal. Now I’m not saying Darnold will for sure work out, but can’t people see the logic behind the deal?

I don’t know. Geno is a good bridge. I don’t think this move stops them from getting Shedeur if they want him. (Big if) Atlanta just did that last year.
comment in response to

The plan has to be to fix the o line this year. They fixed the D line last year, now it’s time to turn to the other line

It’s good to have wants. Not sure they’d get that. Hopefully 🤞

We definitely let them off the hook. They were missing 7 players and we couldn’t even get a goal. Now they get reinforcements. Not doom and gloom but would be hard to keep them off the scoresheet at home.

Is there a chance that CA is underestimating the Sounders a bit? They think they don’t really need their ideal XI to get a result?
comment in response to

Sounders got a million last time, right? So $15 mill is pretty good

Sorry, I know Salt Lake is a tough place to play but no wins since 2011 is unacceptable. Great teams with high expectations don’t shrug these losses off to “we never win in SL”

Yep, I yelled “why did he touch it???” When Minoungou headed it. Also I thought Morris was onside on that other goal. Ugh

Yeah I bet it was Obed too. The way Craig responded, he made it sound like they had no shot of getting said player.

Gotta think at least $10 million to make it worth it for the Sounders

Yeah I really hope they show it on YT. I think I already used up my free one hour preview, so I might be out of luck.

Loved Josh; I thought he deserved Vargas’ minutes until last season where Obed was clearly better. While I get why sounders moved him, it hurts me a little. Good luck to you Josh!

I was just about to say when is Nico coming to SEA lol

Interesting. I wonder if it would make Rusnak not as effective like last time? And if his production goes down, us Sounders fans are not gonna take that very well 😅
And would Nico be open to a reduced role? He kinda left because of that in the first place?

The poster is cancelling subscription to SAH for their political reasons. It’s nearly impossible to keep “politics” out of anything.
