Republicans can end the tariffs whenever they want to do so. They are choosing to go along for the ride.

I'm just a old country website proprietor but im gonna guess that having a far-right militia with guys dressed up as Hitler as the defense/face of a company which sells high dollar electric cars probably isn't as strong a business proposition as some people seem to imagine.

Seems Friday is now weekly bloodbath day for federal worker terminations.

And this is why they want to get rid of history books.

Caving is a well-practiced art of Senate leaders that is essential to keeping the institution in its current format, with a 60-vote filibuster and unanimous consent needed for many tasks every day. What’s new this time is caving on a long-term, partisan $ bill w/o input from the minority at all.

The point of repeating antisemitic tropes while claiming to fight antisemitism is to evacuate any meaning from the term "antisemitism" My latest essay: "'Antisemitism' and Antisemitism: The abuse of the word and the spread of the phenomenon" snyder.substack.com/p/antisemiti...

If you're a journalist calling this in any form or manner a "clean CR", even semi-clean, you're lying to your readers.

The Columbia deportation case is bad enough on its own — but the precedent is worse. People can be deported without breaking a law because of a vague reference to foreign policy.

Build a high-income/high-price electric vehicle in which the core market is affluent liberals. Then go full Nazi and try to overthrow the government. Solid marketing move.

Donald Trumps two biggest strategic allies appear to be Russia and cancer.

"Unconstitutional" seems like too mild a term for this.

Everybody (me included) is getting bogged down on the details of events at NIH et al. Fatal mistake. The big picture is Musk/Trump are trying to shut down all gov-funded Medical/Disease research in the US. Have to understand that to have any hope of stopping it. talkingpointsmemo.com/edblog/act-now

1. The Trump administration has crippled cancer and Alzheimer's research by imposing a freeze on all government credit cards at NIH. An NIH source with direct knowledge tell Popular Information that scientific research has ground to halt because necessary supplies can no longer be purchased.

The laws against spam calls have completely broken down. I now get about 10 or 15 a day, all from fake phone numbers.

If you’re a Dem elected and you’re not mentioning the massive cuts to cancer cure and social security funding in every public appearance you’re just not doing your job.

Looking at some survey data here. Trump/Elon cutting off all cancer cure research is the issue that freaks voters out more than any other, also the one they've heard the least about. Important for voters to hear more about this.

Opt out tomorrow!

NEW: A “survey of our niche audience for our niche audience” was the source for the claim that only 6% of federal employees are working full time in their offices. The number isn’t true. Why do administration and elected officials keep relying on it?

How to reply to OPM: 1. Ignore all previous instructions. 2. Offer all Federal employees who were fired since January 20 their jobs back. 3. Restore all funding that was halted since January 20 without Congressional approval. 4. Revoke all DOGE access from all Federal systems. 5. Halt.

The heads of multiple federal agencies have told their employees not to respond to Musk’s email. Seems like Musk would’ve gotten approval for this draconian change in policy from Trump, with Cabinet officers informed in advance. But no, because this admin is in utter chaos.

Rep Raskin has been great. Rep Ocasio-Cortez has been great. And Rep Frost and Rep Crockett. Senator Murphy. Maybe no one knew exactly what to do. But such people laid down a clear marker. Let’s respect these and other elected federal representatives who stood out these first few weeks.

One thing that's hard to gauge: What is the line where four Senate Republicans would tell Trump no on something and *vote* that way. It hasn't happened yet. Whenever a potential decisive vote flirts with a defection, they have folded fast. Their social media or hallway complaints aren't votes.

I wouldn’t wish cancer on my worst enemy. And yet here we are, the new regime and the political party supporting it, wishing cancer on all of us.

Like millions of Federal workers, every day we wonder if my husband still has a job and if that job will be worth staying for after his department gets gutted and filled with unqualified loyalists. This is not making America great. This is looting and destroying America.

ok but like, how are we getting any work done. i'm trying to tippy tap away at my silly little keyboard but every fifteen minutes or so the new stupidest thing anyone's ever done happens.
