Unconstitutional. Appropriations bills are laws. If the president is not bound by them, he can make laws by fiat and is acting like a dictator. No Democrat can vote for any appropriations or debt ceiling bill while this is happening.

I understand the argument that not supporting the Post hurts good journalists who work there. But continuing to support it threatens society and democracy and will promote distortions within its pages that undercut the truth it may report. It also sends a message that what Bezos is doing is ok.

Donald Trump has fired more Veterans than any other President in our nation’s history.

"The U.S. government spent more during President Donald Trump's first month in office than it did during the same period a year ago"

Elon Musk and his 19-year-olds have now disrupted the approval of medical devices that save lives. Every member of Congress bears a responsibility to stop this right now.

A note for media folks reporting on the FTC's stupid public comment thing regarding social media content moderation: you DO NOT have to accept the FTC's framing that this is about "censorship." It is not. It is about editorial discretion.

part of the reason people don't believe our government is being dismantled out from underneath us is that the people who are doing it are so fucking weird and creepy that when you plainly describe what they are doing it sounds batshit insane

This is beyond unfortunate - it’s outrageous

AOC speaking to a thousand NYC federal workers and allies about the urgency of resisting Musk 🔥🔥🔥

📢 “He’s trying to steal Medicaid to enrich himself. He’s gutting NASA to line his pockets with SpaceX. He’s looting everything good in America for private profit.” - @aoc.bsky.social at today’s #SaveOurServices NYC rally. The fight isn’t over. Join us: go.savepublicservices.com

“I am a king and my will is law” isn’t a clever distraction from what he’s doing, it’s the central underlying justification for everything he’s doing.

🚨ATTENTION! 🚨If you or someone you know is on Medicaid, you might want to tune into my press conference. STARTING SOON 👇🏻👇🏻👇🏻 www.youtube.com/live/JRsKg5p...

"we, your representatives, can do nothing and we plan to do nothing" is just not very inspiring, whether it's said by chuck schumer or bernie sanders.1

The biggest line item on the site of Musk’s cost-cutting team appears to include an error. www.nytimes.com/2025/02/18/u...

Executive Orders are not laws. They are not legally binding. They are a way for a President to signal their interpretation of actual laws. And if they're not blatantly unconstitutional, they can have some force in the executive branch. They cannot take over the legislative or judicial powers.

I would have messages going out every day updating my constituents on what Musk stole today. I would have a list of potential crimes he and DOGE have committed. Get on local radio. Send copy to all of them. Hold a local press conference at the state Capitol. Answer questions. Make. Some. Noise.

The Washpost, which is bleeding millions of dollars and shrinking its staff, accepted -- and then rejected -- a $115,000 ad that criticized Elon Musk. Anyway, here's the ad that the Post's business side didn't want its readers to see ⤵️ thehill.com/media/514849...

1/ Musk and crew have no legal authorization to access (a disclosure to them) Treasury Department tax return systems. Period. No routine use; no written request from law enforcement head for a specific record; no nothing. This is the kind of indiscriminate, unauthorized access that Sen. Goldwater

Just now: during my questions in @waysmeanscmte.bsky.social oversight hearing on the IRS, a tax law expert testified that unauthorized access or sharing of taxpayers' personal data would be a crime, punishable by fine or up to five years in prison. youtu.be/ADND7uq54yA?...

This is horseshit. If you fear protests will lead to martial law then you already live under martial law — and you’re the one who declared it. Plus, it *won’t* lead to a declaration of martial law and the fear misconstrues the nature of the threats we face.

The greatest political scandal today is not what Trump is doing. It is the fact that congressional Republicans have given up their role in the constitutional system as a check on the executive branch. If we are in a constitutional crisis, it is as much on Mike Johnson and John Thune as anyone else.

the dems have tens of millions of email addresses, they could be using them to do opposition comms straight into inboxes. fuck fundraising, just the news of what is happening and what they are doing about it, sent direct to people.

NEW — In an alarming email last night reviewed by me, Coast Guard members learned that 1,135 members' direct deposit account routing information was compromised due to a data breach from unauthorized access. It was only discovered because an officer “reported anomalous activity” on their account.

DOGE is hurting working people, plain and simple. Federal workers are members of our communities who work hard for this country, but right now they are in fear for their jobs. It’s not right. These are some of their stories.

Thanks to Elon Musk and DOGE, our adversaries now have access to sensitive information about one of our intelligence agencies. Elon Musk and DOGE staff should NOT have access to sensitive national security information. www.huffpost.com/entry/elon-m...

Okay what is going on here. Are the accounts at a private banking entity? Does the federal government have direct debit permission set up? So many questions as to how Treasury instructed this payment. (Via NY Post’s Craig McCarthy)

This is absolutely insane. Musk’s DOGE crew just straight up *took* $80 million from an NYC bank account!

2 + 2 = 4 Dismantling of USAID = Illegal Musk + Trump = Traitors Thanks, @brockm.bsky.social. @beyer.house.gov, @kaine.senate.gov, @markwarner.bsky.social: take note from a scared but persistent constituent (who should only have to focus on the upcoming VA bar exam).
