Of course, it is the most important device in the Universe, your pool probably didn't work very well without it! 😂

I'm surprised they didn't ever use "The most important device in the Universe" in the expanse at one point or another. (Maybe they did, amd I missed it?)

I have already made the decision not to visit for a while. Turned down a speaker role at a workshop as a result.

On the one hand he says "Harvard Bad" and then in the other says "A lot of Americans want to go there, and they should be allowed to!" which implies it's good. Which is it? Good or bad? Or is this typical sour grapes...

I've noticed increased bug splater on the windshield lately as well. Good sign really.

Isn't this like the plot of the first Slow Horses novel/season? How could something that was once thought of as fiction go so far?

This, exactly this. Same with the "Kids are being told to hate their country" Bullshit. No they are not. They may be told some of the bad shit their country did once upon a time, but that is hopefully so they don't repeat it.

This was written by AI wasn't it? I mean it has the illusion of being well structured, but if you sit with it for a bit, the obvious lack of substance and any real sense is, well, obvious.

We always called it "Black Friday" when I was growing up, but that may have been dropped for a number of reasons.

One little problem. Time Zones. Makes truly international conferences very hard when half the attendees have to either get up really early, or stay up really late. Think 10-12 hrs difference...

I'd actually say our job is not just to notice it, but to write it down! A lot of people notice things, they just never take it any further.

I've had people here in the UK tell me straight to my face how they don't want immigrants here, how they should stay home etc, etc, and when I point out I'm an immigrant, they go "Oh, I don't mean you".

Same here mate. It's been 25 years for me, but this boy from FNQ will always find snow cool and just want to go play with it.

Yeah, case in point, two shots of an Aurora event in North Wales late last year. I joke with my wife that as we saw the northern lights in our own back yard, we no longer need to go to Iceland. She disagrees.😆

Nice! I’ve been toying with getting another digital camera, but as I no longer use my last one, using my iPhone instead, I’m not sure it’s really worth it.

Amazing shot! Where was this one taken? I tried to get a shot of an Osprey in Australia once, but I didn’t have anywhere near as good a lens as you appeared to have here.
