The answer is very simple in my head. A great GM is one who ticks two check boxes: 1) The players are having fun and are eager to return to the table. 2) The GM is having fun and is eager to return to the table. Everything else is either a bonus or flavor.

It does! And it's what I wish 99% of Isekai stories did: getting an actual title

Missed chance to call it "That time I played a ttrpg on which I was Isekai'd into a fantasy game"

Scorpion clan stories are always my favorites. Yes I'm biased, what can I say other than "I can swim"

I would play towards biases and throw an elf at you. But I'm leaning more towards a samurai grandma kitsune!

Adding to this, you can have a suspicious amount of "ronin". And the city is close enough to shinomen forest to where you could have naga and/or shadowlands shenanigans going on. I recommend a half trying to seduce one of your players to take their skin.

Have an npc meet them in a random tea house, full of commoners. There's always eyes on them. Also play with the architecture and the confusing nature of its design. Someone is always listening. And depending on the party play to the way scorpions view each clan.

They've all been so good, I'm missing this one and the third diadoji shin book (it's in my library though). The weakest one is heart of iuchiban, but I feel like that one should've been a trilogy considering the source material and mega dungeon it's based on.

I never grew past the childlike "just use big damage and kill everything, stat boosts are useless" brand of playing the game, and I kinda wanna keep it that way. I'm already optimizing the hell out of other games, pokemon is where I'll remain a casual that doesn't understand the depth of the game xD

Idk if I'd call it a favorite, but xiii will always have a spot in my heart because it's the first one I completed 100%
