I was just telling one of my students about the high bar we (dev psychologist & cognitive psychologist parents) had for my oldest daughter’s first word! It had to be not imitated; said in appropriate context; with apparent referential intent; and some other criteria I forget.

I am glad to hear this worked for you too! I’m going to do it for my 300-level discussion based class. Students will get their name in a hat when they speak in class and at the end, I’ll pick out a name randomly for a psychology sticker! 🎉

Dev Science has video abstracts, but I haven’t seen graphical abstracts except on X/BlueSky. Just curious, do you want these to use for a teaching assignment? Because that would be a great idea!

I got my first job post-PhD (visiting position at a small liberal arts college) b/c my mentor sat next to someone from the hiring dept on a plane, while returning from a conference. Mentor called me from the airport, I sent materials ASAP, interviewed later that week, and had the job the next week.

Ooh this will be great for my advanced developmental class next semester! How frequently will the episodes be released, and can you reveal who else will be on it?
