He wouldn't play them anyway. He does what he wants

You can only lose something that is in your possession. We were never in it

I would take last sesosns squad over this seasons. Questions about about quality are mute if they never get a chance. We played a cdm at cf yesterday. It's February. Nketiah leaving with no replacement looks foolish at best and incompetent at worse. One example

The squad was bigger last season. Losing odegard is magnified when you let Vieira and esr go with no replacement. Just a thought

In terms of squad building, letting players go and bringing them in, who do you think has the final say.

The writing was on the wall from the summer I'm afraid. Until the manager learns how to squad build and then in turn not run a select few players into the ground, 2nd is the best we can hope for. Keeps making the same mistakes. We went into the season with a significantly worse squad than the before

There are countless times this has happened over the past 2 years. This will be a long slog till the end of the season now, as if it wasn't already

Arteta has to take some responsibility here. Sterling didn't need to be better than saka, he just needed to take minutes away from his legs, same with signing a back up striker. He has always been bad at managing the squad. Runs 10 players into the ground every year, rinse and repeat

Based on what, this is what we do
comment in response to post
It was always going to be difficult in Jan, made worse by our extremely poor business in the summer. Are we acknowledging how poor our business was yet. With only two comps to juggle, we might just be ok.

I don't know about that

Partey was excellent, has been all season. I'd be extending his contract. Maybe

Not sure why you though we would be. He spent all the money we had, in summer, on sterling who he doesn't play, merino and our 4th left back. This is it I'm afraid

Part 2. The best part.

Good point but the season we signed jesus, I think he scores 9 goals the previous season, so 3 more. Isak ceiling was always higher, hindsight is a wonderful thing though. Jesus also had injury issues. Striker signings are hard to get right generally

These guys have no chill and I love them for it

Or question that he was brought in at all
comment in response to post
Bingo, if we can see it, we can I'm the club/mikel can too. Solutions, but maybe not so easy. On we go, tough few days weeks ahead
comment in response to post
All the while not scoring in 6 games, that is what cost us last sesson. That trend has continued into this season. I injuries have compounded this
comment in response to post
This is why we need a sporting director type person at the club. Someone to say 'no mikel' or 'let me see what I can do mikel'.
comment in response to post
Yes, hard to know where gonna with it. We need something, but could rally do with a sporting director or whatever you want call them
comment in response to post
Great point. We all want that 8/10 in that role especially with rice as the 6. Could really unlock us, but which could neagte the need for a true no9 til the summer
comment in response to post
One more point, every chance missed chance feels like the end of the world cause we create very little and can see the writing on the wall. Compounded by sloppyness at the back. We need to destroy the handbrake to salvage this season
comment in response to post
I hear you. Mls has had a breakthrough season, timber on the books already, zinny and Tierney all available at one time or another. At some point we need to work with what we have. Do we need 3 dms, cause that's what we have atm.
comment in response to post
Spot on, the optics don't look great though, especially with edu leaving. It'll all come out in the wash I'm sure
comment in response to post
The monemt we decided to keep partey and j5, someone, somewhere, shouldve said no to merino, pure and simple. Spend the money elsewhere. I'd extend that to the cali signing too, we do not need 80 left backs, get rid of one before another comes in. Especially when we're light in the final 3rd.
comment in response to post
Makes me wonder whether we needed to drop 40m on cali. Add that to the 40m on merino and perhaps we could've spent our money a little better. Hey ho, on we go. Green shoots in what's been a bit of slog of a season already
comment in response to post
Give him the job purely on that basis. The rest will follow

Could spot it a mile off. I'm getting good at this blocking ting

Yes you're quite right, your generation had it the hardest than any other will ever have it. We should follow your example, you are the only generation that works hard, but we should all take note. We must do better

Absolutely

It never seems the day to say 'we're a bit light up top'. It has been clear to see for over a year. Yes we scored lots of goals last season but 6 games where we didn't score any cost us last year. Champions can't do that, pretty simple really.
comment in response to post
Not sure this squad needed a merino type player if we were keeping partey and j6.
comment in response to post
Good article. It's becoming clear that the summer window made us worse. Maintaining should be a bare minimum. We're light and blunt in attack and our midfield looks leggy. We've a lot of work to do.
comment in response to post
We also need a creative 8 and a left winger. Get ready for another left back

In other words spoon feed people. Words are too difficult to read, especially first thing in the morning.

If you haven't done this or similar, maybe you're doing it wrong. Whatever 'it' you is.
