This quilt is spectacular π

Quilting is a $5 billion global market. I think the practice of ladies sitting & quilting together by hand is not as common, but quilt guilds still exist! The Modern Quilt Guild's annual event, Quiltcon, draws 20,000+ visitors each year. Don't count us quilters out, yet!

Even without hashtags, this post came up under #quiltsky . I've noticed the algorithm puts nearly any post that uses the word "quilt" in #quiltsky. I like that because it's where I do most of my scrolling π.

No edit option, yet. But I desperately need it and hope @bkuesky.bsky.social adds it soon!

You can use this map to see if a fabric/craft related thrift store is near you and maybe take the fabric.

Pricing is so hard! I price most things at $25/hour. But labor intensive hand embroidered items would cost way too much at that rate, so then I resort to the best guess method π€«. And I normally sell out of the gallery where I'm a studio artist, so their cut has to be figured in.

The shop fabric is awesome despite its directional nature.

I may do that to start. The first time I did it I just deleted it all. I have far fewer followers now than then so even less of a loss. The main thing I learned is that many IRL friends weren't really friends since without FB they were impossible to connect with. It was weird.
