Neither my wife nor I got one. But others had theirs at the polling station. Seems random.

So your kids can turn the light off on you when you’re showering/going to the bathroom. 😂

The treetop adventure at Capilano was pretty cool. But yeah, I only did it because it was free for me.

I’m generally intrigued by your “burrito crimes”. But I don’t understand soup in a burrito.

I sang it in NS every morning but not in BC.

Or they might simply not believe it because it sounds insane that this could happen.

Simon and Garfunkel make it sound so pretty…hello darkness, my old friend…

We’re big fans of the Royal Ontario museum in Toronto. In Vancouver, walking or renting a bike and going around the sea wall is wonderful. As a transit nerd, you should take the Sea Bus to Lonsdale Quay, which is nice. From there you can catch a bus to Grouse Mountain, which has a gondola

If there’s a book by an author I haven’t heard of but it has a blurb from an author I respect, it’s more likely I pick it up. If a new book is from an author I already respect, I’m not going to notice a blurb

The fountain is like…a whirlpool sitting on a glass atrium roof?

I will be shocked if he doesn’t win a majority. It’s self serving and it’ll probably work just fine.

What did it end up being about?

Pretty sure I’m neurotypical and bartering is no fun.

Foxes?

Is this plausible for a single gov’t to do? Like Canada could do it effectively even if the US doesn’t do something similar?

But also to take some time to go fishing before you kill god.

Honestly, I probably wouldn’t play games if there was no yellow paint.

Alt text for the win on this one. I was like…car parked in the bike lane? Nope! lol. How did this even happen?

I (fellow Canadian) think I picked it up from Twitter. So online that I start speaking differently? Maybe.

I remember the brood mother in the dlc was hell.

I’ve seen them in lake country in Quebec. Pretty sure I’ve seen them in other provinces outside of the Maritimes.

Fun thread. Nicely done!

I was driving in blizzard conditions in Ottawa. Driving 20km/h because visibility was poor. And then there was some dude riding his fat tire bike. I was impressed

The current etiquette is to not use the quote tweet to dunk on people. Just block the trolls and move on.

When I went in for my second dose, the nurse said “oh, you came back!” I was like “people don’t come back?!” And I guess lots of people don’t because the first dose leaves many people so miserable.

I promise the vaccine is superior to getting shingles.

Is there a minimum number of characters? I can get names with 4 or more characters. But for “Ian” it doesn’t go.

I have also witnessed the counter/hairdryer scenario. I’m sorry to hear that it wasn’t a unique event. I’ve also seen a fellow sitting naked on the ground playing music on his laptop (not a euphemism) in the change room.

I feel like his statement also included the idea that firing bureaucrats would reduce red tape. But you’re firing the people who could fix the red tape if the right leadership wanted that. And now there wouldn’t be enough people to process stuff. So the delays would be worse.

Haven’t seen any. And it’s easy to block them if there are :-)

And accidentally saved Mike Pence’s life…or some other historic thing.

Scarlett O’Hara is a Trump voter. Can’t see why anyone would think she’d vote Harris

That part I got. I just didn’t understand why. I wasn’t following to closely then. Don’t know who this guy is.

This guy is ‘immortal’ because he was overpaid and given two years? That right? I lived under a rock in 2021

Minnesota coming out of the West is a little spicy. Atlanta surprising would be a surprise. So, not so boring.

Sadly being anti bike line was the thing that won the mayoral election in Ottawa. He really wasn’t offering much else.

Out of curiosity, what region of the world are you in? Pacific NW in the US?

Kitty corner is the opposite corner of an intersection. So if you were in the NE corner, kitty corner would be the SW corner. A parkade is a parking garage. Pencil crayons are colouring pencils.
comment in response to post
Pencil crayons isn’t even said across all of Canada. My wife is from Quebec and our first argument was pencil crayons (me) vs colouring pencils (her).

I hear what you’re saying but I do think the context around these characters is different. A vigilante that kills vampires plays differently than Frank Castle walking (crossing?) the lines that he does.

I have a (possibly faulty) memory of Coates saying black Punisher couldn’t be done back when Coates was still on Twitter. Something like Punisher had to be white because no one would accept a vigilante black man as a hero. Even as an anti hero.
