🇨🇦 here. Wife spent 6 days in Providence in Eureka CA last Oct. She is healthcare worker here. Was completely appalled and shocked at lack of quality compared to 🇨🇦 or even 🇲🇽 and it cost $90k USD.

Yes imagine if millions had healthcare. Oh wait, I'm Canadian, I have healthcare. My wife spent 5 days in a hospital in Eureka CA in Nov 2024 with food poisoning. Bill came this week, $90k US or 130k CAD. Luckily we have insurance but inflicting that sort of debt on the avg. citizen is CRIMINAL.

At least in BC we now see municipalities allowing more 'cottages' on city lots, which does add more rentals to the pool, which in turn should to lead to lower rents. Doesn't seem to be working though. And still many muni's which wont allow it even on acreages.
