Never forget what they took from us

The reason A.I. is being shoved down our throats is shareholders want a return on their investment. Every company that integrates this crappy tech into their products knows you don't want it, but they've sunk too much money into it and don't care. Turn it off, don't use it, don't look back.

trying out a neat game about being a blind swordsman who finds his way around by sound "hey is there a way to turn on menu sounds? Id love to play this actually blindfolded but the menu is currently silent" aaaand there's that classic look of "aw damn it" from a game dev lol

hi. sorry if you're getting sick of me talking about nonvoters and 3rd party voters. please understand i hate them with the fire of one billion suns.

I respect any videogame that tells me the world is ending but lets me go fishing

Videogame: The world is ending in dragonfire, you have 24 hours to save us or we all die Videogame: But first I need 20 flowers

Nearly there now - just a few hundred more days to go.

I have a little plea and it's this: please keep posting about things that aren't The Horrors. I am not saying to not look at or be informed about The Horrors. What I am saying—what I am genuinely kind of begging you to do—is keep posting about books and movies and sunsets and pets and joy. Please.

My immediate assumption about anyone who complains about DEI or similar is that they actually can’t compete on a level playing field

not coincidental that they did this as soon as they could be confident the federal govt had lost all interest in protecting consumers.

James Rolfe: oblivious to optics, loyal to a fault Justin Silverman: any press is good press, AVGN: the Game published by Screenwave coming to Switch 2 this fall By their powers combined they are appearing on a low rent culture war awards show that exists solely because Stellar Blade was mid.

Here are some nice mushrooms

I always feel slightly insulted by the quality of bots nowadays. In my day we had hand-crafted government propaganda for 5 mao a post, worked by artisan bootlickers.

ok the Utah school book bans are awful, and part of a growing push for censorship, etc, but I must reluctantly acknowledge that it is quite funny that literally half their list is Sarah Maas books. I suspect the teens of Utah know what they want. pen.org/the-state-of...

Significant news on the academic social media front: as previously announced, @thegraduatecenter.bsky.social sent out notification this morning that today is the last day it will post on X/Twitter, and adds, "We hope you will join us on Bluesky, where an active & lively community...has gathered."

i feel like it’s about to be a real weird four years to be a lawyer

Welcome immigrants from X interested in science to the friendlier skies of @bsky.app, as documented by a new @nature.com survey (but you already knew that 😉) "Bluesky is much better for science. There is much less toxicity, misinformation, and distractions." www.nature.com/articles/d41...

Winter sure is popular :3 We have so many other kittens right now & stories going on but I just haven’t gotten any good photos lately to make posts about them. The Sweet Treats, JJ, BumbleTus, Pikachu & Eevee, Turnip, Ash & Willow are all still looking for their people, & we have new faces to meet.

All groups are political. Your book club. Your knitting group. Your gardening collective. The companies from which you buy your food, clothes, entertainment. The place you work out. Right now, in this cultural moment, anything you can do in the groups you're in contact with makes a difference.

Gotta go back to headphones looking like this. The Jecklin Float lifestyle.

is there an rpg where you collect items, progressively level up, but after a certain point your character starts to mostly get weaker and eventually dies
