Man he really called it

On the one side, I do not love being a Jew in a country now ruled by explicit Nazis. On the other hand, this is all amazing ad footage for the Dems in 2026.

Going to be quite frank, I do not find anything about this “king” stuff to be funny in any form, don’t think there’s a place for us to just crack wise about it and pretend it’s normal, yes we are all irony-poisoned but if we don’t draw a line here then we have no line

Go Governor Hochul!

@sanders.senate.gov: "You're looking at enormous power & wealth in the hands of a small number of people who could care less about working class people... They suffer from the addiction of greed. You got $50 billion? Ain't enough. We got to cut SS so I can get a tax break and maybe get $55 billion."

I do not think it is going to get this far.

Imagine if we spent as much time talking about traffic violence as we did gun violence? gothamist.com/news/worried...

A perfect California summary

Many Americans fundamentally believe that truly horrendous things can't happen here, and work backwards from there.

AUSA Hagan Scotten, former clerk for John Roberts, really put some mustard on his resignation letter.

“I expect you will eventually find someone who is enough of a fool, or enough of a coward, to file your motion. But it was never going to be me.”

damn if its this bad now just think how bad it was when the people who don't support academic freedom were in charge!!!

Long time Palo Alto residents know allllll about this evil plan to make it possible to get to places faster than driving!

i just got served this ad on twitter that is literally nazi propaganda. not like regular right wing bullshit—i was served, with an ad label, just a thing saying hitler didn’t actually kill jews. i know that things have been fucked over there for a while but holy shit

this is the most bleakly funny thing about the whole “AMERICAN DOMINANCE” shtick from people like Nate Hochman: every *actual* thing that this country has concrete advantages in they’re enthusiastically involved in tearing down. ensuring a Chinese century to own the blue hairs.

I've never had a pair of headphones I thought was a perfect design. I've tried over ear noise cancelling muff style, stiff earbuds, noise cancelling silicone-tip earbuds, foam earbuds, around-ear hook-style earbud and open-ear. Earbuds fall out. The muff or hook style ones create pressure points.

Weak men cannot compromise. Weak men cannot build consensus. Weak men think that leadership means force. Weak men build nothing that lasts.

Watching Rocky Horror Picture Show. I watched it once like 10 years ago but don't really remember anything except Tim Curry's face.

The question @hakeem-jeffries.bsky.social and the rest of the Dem leadership need to answer is this: What's even the point of voting for a spending deal if Elon Musk and his platoon of Nick Fuentes wannabes are going to make the actual spending decisions?

Part of me says no, we should let this admin cook to a certain extent. Let them do what they want. (Within reason, don't literally imminently kill a bunch of people). It needs to be made clear what it's *actually* like to have these idiots govern a massive economy and military superpower.

People get that it's a little odd for every company to have had extensive corporate and HR language about how they were adhering to DEI principles, right? This was a short-lived HR and marketing fad. I don't really care if my grocery store has specific buzzwords in their job postings. It's not real.

Pushing live production code cooked up by some young coders over a week of sleepness nights in place of a legacy system that is fundamental to the operation of the US government is against every programming best practice.

Holy shit

kirsten gillibrand on WNYC right now being the perfect distillation of how Dems cannot just take the win on congestion pricing. a bold move that's already working great? yeah well sure but what if firefighters have to bring forever chemicals on the train & everyone gets cancer, did you think of that

we're going to need independent, authoritative medical statisticians - probably having to compile data down to the level of individual hospitals in red states - to measure the rise in deaths as a result of this, because they're corrupting or removing the data at the federal level

This is another problem with trade wars. On top of the direct financial and supply issues, it leads to a lasting loss of trust between two trading partners. Why would importers trust that an erratic US President won't change his mind again next week?

Understanding this skeet is the height of political knowledge right now.

For all the hand wringing about tech-world interest in Effective Altruism, it seems distinctly preferable to the currently empowered strain of Effective Sociopathy

you hate ralph nader for throwing the 2000 election. i hate ralph nader for burning america's state capacity to the ground to establish a universal nonprofit veto over any affirmative program, however progressive. we're different.

do we have a name yet for this genre of horror/thrillers where the conceit is a normal person being flown out to a lush but isolated locale and then finding themselves subjected to the whims of the extremely rich and powerful (The Menu, Blink Twice, A Murder at the End of the World, Glass Onion)
