Unitarian Universalism has its roots in Protestant Christianity, but in the US is no longer a Christian religion. However we do have Christian UUs (as well as Humanists, Jewish UUs, Buddhist, Pagan, etc.) Non-creedal faith rooted in justice and living in community.

I think part of the reasoning for passing this resolution in June was to pave the way for religious freedom claims by transgender members of the UU faith in case the worst happened in November... And it did.
