I read the most of my friends (hyperlexia is a thing that happens to me not something I do) and it’s so fun to do this!!! If I like a weird little book I get to be the one to first tell my friends. It’s like being the first one to know a fun meme except better!

8) Nobody needs a fucking hero. Just do something. Every day. Play to your strengths and do what you can. I am a researcher and have no delusions about being an organizer. But I produce work that is actionable and I deliver it to people who can use it. That’s all I can do and it’s enough.

6) By the same token, stop fetishizing power. Normalize its refusal. Focusing breathlessly on the exercise of power by dimwitted fascists only helps their project of projecting power. Ignore it. Celebrate those who quit. Build them up.

5) Mock power. Fascists depend on the projection of invincible power. Take every opportunity to show the emperor has no clothes. Fascists depend on people craving proximity to power. Any sign of weakness is thus debilitating.

Have something to look forward to at all times, and if you find you don't have anything to look forward to, go invent something right now. Make lists of things that bring you joy, so when you find yourself without a plan, you'll have a menu of ideas at the ready. 4/x
