I don’t see how the ability to sign more free agents is necessarily more valuable to Cleveland than all those draft picks.

So they have to absorb $92M against the cap? I don’t think there’s a comp package the Browns would be willing to give up that makes that make sense. And unlike the Osweiler deal, isn’t it much more difficult to cut Watson immediately. Who wants DeShaun Watson on the Patriots roster for a year?
comment in response to post
Isn’t Watson’s base salary guaranteed? Would that guarantee not follow him to a new team?

As a person with two degrees in Journalism and more than a decade of practice, I cannot stress how much of this is simply lazy, intellectually incurious people taking information as it comes to them and vomiting it back at the Internet.

But people do, and I think one mistake a lot of made from the start was misunderstanding how powerful the primetime NBC definition of Trump was.

Certainly relative to resources we are.

If I understand the First Amendment correctly, it’s not censorship if an actual government actor owns the company that’s censoring you.

And then some. Theres a whole story about how shabby his operation was before NBC showed up. And it’s quite possible the TV money kept him in the black for a while.

Well, I heard he had gone bankrupt, but wait, there he is on my TV. He owns a helicopter. Guess he’s doing pretty OK. And he doesn’t seem to like this Obama fella either. This is exactly how most American brains work.

Same. But most people don’t bring critical thinking with them to primetime television.

But who knows how to judge that? They see a man with billions of dollars on TV telling supposed mentees how business really works. And it all seems to make sense. They see someone they disagree with politically telling them that man is not especially great at business. Why would they believe it?

There are 186 episodes of The Apprentice/Celebrity Apprentice that aired over the span of a decade. The facade of Trump’s business acumen was laser etched into a lot of brains without anyone ever having to think much about it.
comment in response to post
People who dislike Trump don’t understand that average Americans see him as a smart businessman because he was portrayed that way on TV for years. They don’t know a good businessman from a bad one. TV magic did a really good job of selling him as savvy. Breaking that illusion is near impossible.

I don’t think anyone in this thread understands anything. 😂

Because then they are complicit in the firings by essentially legitimizing them, which undermines their contention that the firings are illegal.

Fixed it: Republicans welcomed Kash Patel's confirmation, seeing him as someone who can fix the FBI's alleged targeting of conservative criminals in recent years.
