What happened to ceding power to the States?

Minimally trained is an understatement, add distractions …

Likely yes

There are probably other things, for example, if the economy plummets, there will be more people who can’t afford to drive.

Even worse when you consider how much less public transit the public consumed on MARTA. Per APTA 2000 (167 million UPT) 2023 (62 million UPT).

Does that mean fewer people are making the trip or they’re carpooling, taking alternative routes, biking or taking public transit?

Fine examples they are. The streetcar effect is one of my ‘favorite’ urban transit talking points that imho doesn’t get the attention it deserves. So had to chip into the conversation.

This is likely true in most North American cities. Any even mid size city had a streetcar system connecting downtown with the streetcar suburbs. The streetcars are gone, but the street grid and housing density and land use remains. Reminds me of this paper: scholar.google.com/scholar?hl=e...

Best way to make buses more environmentally friendly remains filling them with people, we’ve taken our eye off the ball. Full diesel bus > empty electric bus

I like pączki, I like beer, but I’m with you, those don’t go together. (I had to independently verify that there actually is such a thing … oof)

Reverse mortgages were here first … unless that’s what is meant by ‘equity theft’

Political allocation of capital, build the shiny stuff. Given qualified staff shortages and absenteeism, imagine the potential impacts on service reliability of a policy that instead forces some small fraction of the sales tax funding to be applied, such that it doubles front line worker pay…

Lol, I was joking. Small chance tech bros do much for equity.

Guessing a tech bro planned would have ample transit connected low income housing
