I saw it on the map too, but that was really the only place I’ve seen anything about it. No news coverage. No people talking about it on socials. Just checked the site again and it says the event already ended but it didn’t have a time.

Best I can come up with is that many people think that the effects of Elon/Trump will remain “over there” and we won’t be touched (false). And that our media ecosystem is just not tuned into what a fucking mess this is because of the former

This also makes me think as to why there aren’t protests like this here in PR when we’re going to be some of the most affected by it all because of our reliance on federal funds/food imports.

For sure. PR has the capacity to produce a lot more stuff, especially food, that could help it in the long run. But there has to actually be the political/business will to make that happen and a lot of what I’ve seen post-tariff is just kinda wishful thinking from the gov’t
