Puerto Rico is currently embroiled in three lawsuits against the fossil fuel industry. A judge recently accused the Municipality of San Juan's attorney of plagiarizing a first of its kind climate RICO lawsuit presented by 37 municipalities. heavyweather.media/weather-repo...

Last year, Kamala Harris visited Puerto Rico and I asked for any maps that they used to see if they had to account for Puerto Rico's pothole-filled roads. Sadly, no maps. Instead, I got a heavily redacted Secret Service presentation. Find more at: heavyweather.media/weather-report-7/

Today's newsletter has a little bit of everything: alleged plagiarism in a climate RICO case, heavily redacted Secret Service documents from Kamala Harris's visit to Puerto Rico, and Trump going after climate change laws and how it could affect the archipelago heavyweather.media/weather-repo...

They are making significant material progress while losing more and more political and popular ground, this contradiction will continually lead to accelerating confrontation until it is resolved

I just did this and if you have the means and want to help support indie journalists that are actually here in Puerto Rico, (and are also #Boricuas) well...you should do the same! Read @vaquero2xl.bsky.social's pitch to support him here: heavyweather.media/about/

Big mad over on the other site because a mainstream news outlet is pushing my two week old scoop as new information

I don’t think most Americans realize how devastating Trump’s tariffs are on developing countries still trapped in paying of development debts (thanks to legacies of colonization). How this will impact the poorest of the world. F*ck you Trump et al. I hope you all rot in hell.

Yes there will be people who are not the exact type of lefty as you at a protest. a lot of it will be cringe perhaps. No it will not solve all of the real problems. Do it anyway. You will be glad you did.

The biggest thing we need to do is let people know that the protests are FUN. Yelling fuck the man is fun. You will meet fun people. We also need to make them more fun. Bring grills like the French. Bring instruments like it’s Mardi Gras. Give people a reason to spend their weekend in the streets.

Actually great to see people protesting the calamity en masse around the US

Happening now: a tremendous number of people are streaming into downtown Chicago for today's day of action. The rally/march hasn't started yet and Daley Plaza is already packed, with thousands more expected. Haven't seen a crowd this large in a while.

#HANDSOFF PROTEST feed!

Really apparent something massive is going to give in this country and I do not think anyone is ready for it.

"We owe each other everything actually" is exactly the reminder I think we all need right now.

Wrote about the Trump tariffs, how astronomically stupid it all is, possible effects on Puerto Rico, and what we - collectively - can do to get over this new calamity heavyweather.media/liberation-t...

Puerto Rico imports about 85% of the food we eat, and when you couple the new tariff scheme with the Jones Act, things are going to get expensive as shit in the archipelago. heavyweather.media/liberation-t...

Everyone’s already said this, but it would be pretty hilarious if the Switch costing $900 is what makes Gamers turn on the Right (i’m doubtful but alas)

Nayib Bukele, the president of El Salvador, responded to news of the judge’s order by posting a GIF of a confused bunny on X.

For years, it’s been clear that the Trump admin was looking at human rights being ignored or outright eliminated in other countries as a an example of what they could do here if they came to power. The question is which country are they going to copy next.
