Aspiring author hard at work on his first furry BSDM novel. It's like Game of Thrones and Saw had a cub. Future announcements will be posted here.

Oh, and the kicker: the fed who interviewed me at the local library regarding my cannabis use confessed her daughter was starting a cannabis-related business.
The government has more faces than Janus.

I know that all too well from my brief tenure at the VA. Wouldn't let me consult for my previous employer. Assured me state-legal cannabis use was fine. Terminated me after three months despite great performance reviews because GovCIO got the weed policy wrong. They left me jobless.
Never again.

Just a suggestion, but you seem organized and motivated. Ever thought of forming your own company? Or just doing consulting under a DBA or LLC?

It's a system that compares job descriptions against your resume and presents the probability of the two matching in an ATS.
Subscription, but invaluable.

Same. The long, rambling homilies are often made-up garbage, too. βToday, my six-year-old child asked why so many people oppose supply chain optimization using Salesforce. It blew me away. Chauncey is wise beyond his years! Then he went back to eating a whole jar of paste.β

It should. The man literally gave a Nazi salute in public without repercussions.

The continuity is so shot in this one.
DISC: "Philipa must return to her own time, or she'll fall apart."
S31: "Hi. I'm alive in the 24th Century somehow. I'm not over a hundred years old. And I can still kick really high."
Also, 100% less Fuzz and whatever his species was supposed to be, please.

Which is why I've never been a good one. I was too busy trying to do right by my employees, not fuck them over at senior management's whims.

Seconded by someone who (briefly) did the VA Shuffle. Don't swim in that lake, kids. Uncle Sam lives at the bottom, waiting to drag you into the depths.

It's worth it. I've been unemployed a year and a half now, and employers are still playing games with ghost ads and abusive hiring. But I'm making time to work on my writing.
Feels exhausting most days, but also rewarding.

It's more common than you think. Stress kills libido, and you're not the only one experiencing that currently. *bearhugs* Seriously, I know so many unhappy people right now.
If you can carve out some time and energy to build something of your own, maybe you can pave a way out of government work.

"Your expertise" meaning computer work, right?
But what about...
1. Marketing and selling those custom balloons and valves you make?
2. Using your mechanical interests to start a side business?
3. Making an app to fit a niche need?
A day job with steady income helps you build up *your* stuff.

By building your stuff on your terms without an employer tainting it.
Ever thought about freelancing or starting your own business?

Whether you get a prosthetic testicle or not, your attractiveness isn't a function of simple math. Take all the time you want, but you'll always be welcome back (and sexy).

At that point, what's the value of the instructor? They've ceded all their knowledge and expertise to a "guessing machine."

Consider: taking a short 4K video and then using a frame-grabber app. Might bypass all the nonsense.

I assume you've tried the old "tap the screen where you want the camera to focus" trick? If I had to guess, I'd say there's a new algorithm in there that prioritizes faces, because that's what the AI crowd obsesses about -- better selfies.

There is, but people refuse to use it because it's "complicated." Suits me. It's like a big force bubble that keeps out riff-raff... like ad bots.

Friendly Neighborhood IT Bear here! Be careful with these kinds of questionnaires. They're often used by hackers to reverse engineer possible passwords. (Favorite song, favorite movie, lucky number, etc.) So long as none of your passwords contain any of the information in the quiz, you're good. ππ»

It's bots. I rarely post anything and I pick them up like fleas at an animal shelter. Bluesky is receptive to them, whereas Masto admins treat them as policy violations.
