That's just how Austin is, especially the neighborhoods between Ceasar Chavez, MLK, 35, and the toll road. Quirky and hella overpriced.

Micropots in a $11.5k guitar?
I wonder if the caps are garbage, too.

Any book with instructions on the appropriate way to sell one's daughter is abhorrent and unfit for moral guidance.

I'm sorry, but that's nonsense. There are many errors in the Bible. Some examples:
1. Pi =/= 3 (1 Kings 7:23)
2. Bats aren't birds. (Lev. 11:19)
3. The formation of life is not a mystery (Ecc 11:5)
4. Firmaments do not exist. (Gen 1:7)
There is far too much to list here.

I wish they were content to ignore in return.
I ignored the Christians once, and I got dragged through court for it because they thought the devil had control of my family and they were trying to save us from hell.
It was pretty horrible.

That's legitimately frightening.

Insurance software manages profitability. I'm only talking about venue and judicial assignments.
I appreciate your politeness. It's been a pleasure speaking with you.
I've somewhat reached the point that this thread no longer piques my interest.
Thanks for the convo, though.

I never said I would, "fix the justice system."
People make some rather silly inferences.

I've already explained it several times, responding to various people.
The problem you're experiencing now is me not caring enough to continue diving into an inconsequential conversation. lol

Yes, I have.
Software that applies a set of standards that ensure fairness is vastly superior to a lottery, imo.

I'm a systems engineer who discovered too late that they absolutely hate working for others, and decided to use my skills in a variety of ways, including creating logistics systems for several small businesses, and many personal projects.
I found the skills to be fairly universally applicable.

I have.

No, people keep assuming things which I haven't said.
Expecting others to take me literally and without inference is not terrible communication.

I'm well aware of how cases are assigned.
I've explained how venue determination and case assignments can be determined with software, not with a roll of the dice, so to speak, and you'd think from the way some are responding that I'm calling for an AI government. lol
comment in response to

While I do hold the opinion that we need more judges, writing software that determines the most appropriate venue and assigns an available judge with the reasonably least amount of potential bias (with a target of zero) is not something beyond our reach.

It's not magic, and I've already explained it several times.
I'm assuming the way the word count divides the discussion into multiple parts is to blame for why you didn't see it.
comment in response to
post
Before this discussion gets more convoluted, what do you mean by, "it." Because I'm talking about venue determination and case assignments, not about deciding cases.
comment in response to

I'm saying we can write the statutes in such a way that we can use logistics software for venue determination and case assignments, with an emphasis on a balance of fairness to all parties.
I'm not saying we should use AI to decide cases.
comment in response to
post
Literally, just the use of logistics software for the determination of venue and case assignments.
You'd think I was advocating for turning our government over to skynet. lol
comment in response to
post
I can articulate it rather well. lol
1. Write statutes with specific standards for the determination of venue and judicial assignment.
2. Automate those logistics to create the fairest, least biased scenario for every case.
comment in response to
post
That's an ironic statement. lol
Machines, as of yet, cannot exercise discretion.
comment in response to

No, I'm not a terrible communicator. I just think quite differently than many, and people are making broad assumptions of intent, while I'm being very literal and operating within the confines of a strict word-count.
comment in response to
post
No. I'm not saying we should use AI at all. People keep making broad assumptions about what I mean, when I'm being very literal.
The logistics of venue determination and judicial assignments don't require learning software.
What can be automated should be automated: that's the least bias.
comment in response to

I say, "automatic process," and everyone jumps to AI. lol

The Constitution can (and should) be amended as society evolves.
I'm really not sure why everyone is so opposed to ensuring our judiciary is as fair and impartial as possible.
comment in response to

There are clearly certain circumstances where mental competency to stand trial SHOULD be questioned.
I'm not sure why that's a problem.
comment in response to
post
No, I'm not.
comment in response to

Though flawlessness is impossible, it should be the target we aim for, so when we innevitably miss we'll have gotten as close as possible.
Judges must be impartial, and imo, each case should be handled by judges most fit to oversee each case, and not just assigned at random.
comment in response to
post
I'm not angry at all.
Nothing any of us says here bears any consequence on the case. I'm really not sure why people care so much about someone holding a different opinion on something. lol
comment in response to
post
Except I don't.
1. I still see it as a conflict of interest. That's my opinion (and I disagree with statutes that say CoI must be financial).
2. I believe our judiciary should be held to the highest standard.
People are welcome to disagree, but neither of those points have been proven wrong.

It's possible that I read it differently than was intended, as inflection is lost in text, but I have no desire to converse with those who come across to me as rude or uncivil. I enjoy my real life far too much for that. lol

It's pretty cutting edge, but the tech exists. I'm sure you'll hear about it eventually.
