I have found this oddly healing. I will now proceed to excitedly tell a bunch of people in my life that absolutely will not care, but nevertheless I am happy. Thank you for this.

I’m imagining a chemical reaction similar to throwing a chunk of sodium into water.

This reminds me of The Prince of Persuasia line from Bob’s Burgers, “Be the tallest guy at a bar and then brag about how long your butt crack is”.

I recognized and got away as soon as I could, but the part of my childhood where I was like them haunts me to this day.

For me, I think the the most soul crushing part isn’t that I was right towards the end, but that I was wrong with them at the beginning. That I was initially on their side and perpetuated their awfulness.

This whole conversation is like a time machine for me. I bought my PSOne through them and it takes me back to that feeling.

Hey, at least we can both agree on one thing. Nothing better than seeing Atlanta at the bottom.

Excusing the sins of anyone who votes the same way as you is also quite maga. Food for thought.

The question was directed at comparing the damage money spent on Tesla and the downstream impact to a single combustion engine. Not comparing a combustion engine to an electric one.

That, and all the many other things he and his money have damaged, those dollars spent supported that. That’s the whole reasoning behind boycotts, if money spent in the company made no difference, then what’s a boycott for?
comment in response to post
Money spent on Tesla is a portion of Tesla’s value. Tesla’s value is a direct contributor to musk’s wealth. Musk’s wealth buys him power. Musk’s power both directly guts and defunds federal environmental protections, as well as indirectly by spending money on politicians who do the same.

Curious if anyone’s done the analysis comparing the environmental damage of a person using a single combustion engine against the cost of the dollars added to musk’s value by purchasing a tesla. Is the engine rev actually more damaging, or is the comment just a defense mechanism?

You have to figure that if they could afford a Tesla back then, they can afford to switch now.

Thumbs down seems to be so much more effective than flipping them off. The immediate rage….

The cybertruck drivers are already on edge. I’ve had more than one immediately pull out their phone and start recording what I assume they think will be a social media meltdown simply for the eye contact and thumbs down.

But the skills we gained by learning to navigate Napster/lime wire were excellent training in avoiding the dumb phishing scams of today.

Oh god, I did not see those until you mentioned it. Looks like someone licked a bunch of candy-corn pumpkins and spit them back out.

The egregious green-screening is fun. A hundred bucks says that burger is at least 8 hours old. They couldn’t even spring for the same colored table…

Even if he doesn’t have access or the data is deleted, just the possibility/threat might be enough to scare some of them off, which is concerning in its own right.

I want to reach into that picture and just switch the orientation of the logo back and forth… back and forth… zen.

Just… give a warning so some folks can move first is all.

Welp, it ain’t the internet if someone doesn’t fall for it and completely miss the nuance. I guess it was my turn, but it’s hard to resist dunking on gatekeepers, satire or not.
comment in response to post
My favorite thing about food gatekeepers is that you can always take it one step further and expose their lunacy.

A lot of people say they like raw salad but really they just like the water that makes up the majority of the vegetables. If you can’t enjoy just licking the dirt the vegetables grow in, you don’t really fucks with it. Sometimes it’s just bare sediment and that’s still good enough.

Same. The other day I wanted to post the entire speech, but with ‘nazi’ replaced by ‘maga’, however I fear it’s not worth the future knock at the door when they trace it back to me…

At least a more regular cleaning of all the horse manure on the roads would be an upgrade.

I hear skydiving is fun. I’ll be happy to pack the chutes for them too!
