Please fold this into stories about Trump’s little performance yesterday.

THIS is why Democratic leaders must be replaced sooner rather than later. 9:42 AM: Amy Klobuchar posts a photo with Lindsey Graham bragging about her "bipartisan meeting" and how they "stand with Ukraine" 1:40 PM: Lindsey Graham is on Fox News "trashing Zelenskyy and praising Trump and Vance"

We are weeks into this and Klobuchar can’t even refer to these firings as illegal.

Governor Tim Walz says when Democrats are back in power, people are "not going to expect us to tinker around the edge with the ACA; they're going to expect universal healthcare."

USA is cow.

Just so you all know what's coming: They're going to claim that extending the tax cuts doesn't cost any money. It's called a "current policy baseline," it's mostly a scam (though all budget math is scammy in one way or another), and the Rs aren't going to let being against the "rules" get in the way

BREAKING: Two sources tell @theprospect.bsky.social that the acting commissioner of the Social Security Administration has asked for a plan for cuts to 50% of the workforce, including at the 1,200 field offices that serve millions of beneficiaries. prospect.org/health/socia...

SCOOP: Elon's favorite anon data expert, who's been appearing on NewsNation in sunglasses, isn't a govt. spending expert but rather a senior employee at an AI lending firm that's battled the CFPB for years. Me at @rollingstone.com www.rollingstone.com/politics/pol...

Minneapolis needs a Mayor who solves more problems than they create. We deserve a Mayor who works as hard as we do, and who is willing to collaborate to achieve a safer city. Read about Frey’s failures and 3 things I'd do to improve public safety. medium.com/@omarfatehmn...

Note here that Musk is now literally assigning himself new contracts based on the use of his DOGE wrecking crew and the associated micro-bros. this isn't a "conflict of interest". it's just handing yourself federal money www.cnn.com/2025/02/25/b...

I think it’s imperative that Democrats say that the firings are illegal. In every piece of communication, it needs to be clear that Republicans are breaking the law.

New York's (de)congestion pricing, which charges $9 to drive into Manhattan below 60 St, has reduced traffic, increased ridership, reduced subway crime, and is raising funds to fix the decaying transit system. Rare for a public policy to have this many benefits!

Elon is hiring criminals to work for DOGE because it is a criminal conspiracy

That’s right. I have to start my day with a big gulp of that Bouie Kool-Aid.

One reason why we live in a reactionary world where even younger people can fall under the thrall of someone like Trump. The high structural costs of housing, healthcare, and childcare makes our democracy fragile.

It’s time to clean house.

Not enough cancer risk on this section of map. Needs a freeway.

Somebody get this talking point to the Democratic consultants so they can focus group it.

New: DOGE's spending has been secret. No longer. My colleagues have uncovered it. www.propublica.org/article/doge...

In 2024, the NLRB filed a complaint against Tesla for interfering in a union drive at their Buffalo, NY assembly plant. Today:

been pretty obvious for awhile that wurman is a propagandist and a hack, but the supposedly liberal professors/colleagues who were running to his defense just a few days ago also deserve some shunning and reputational harm for aiding his efforts.

Trump rode to political prominence on birtherism and spent the last month of his campaign claiming that Haitians were eating cats. The rise of authoritarianism in America *must* be understood as a misinformation crisis.

Believe people when they tell you who they are. Democratic governors need to get tight with their state's National Guard leaders, the party needs to form a shadow government and people need to get mentally prepared. We all sound like lunatic preppers, but Trump isn't joking.

The accelerationist belief that if things get bad enough, then things will start to get better is quite something to see in the wild. It’s wrong though. Historically, misery creates more misery and is visited on the most marginalized in ever intensifying cycles of horror.

it appears Delaware Dems and the (also Dem) governor are attempting to rip up Delaware corporate law so they can give 55 billion dollars to Elon Musk, with a bill written by Elon's own lawyers www.cnbc.com/amp/2025/02/...

It seems almost unavoidable at this point that we are headed for a deep, deep recession. Just based on 200K+ federal firings & pullback of contracts, the March employment report (to be released April 4) seems certain to show bigger job losses than any month ever outside of a few in 2008-9 and 2020.

time to dig up the @adamkotsko.bsky.social tweet

it’s really critical to not accept this interpretation as “correct” even if the Court adopts it. it’s wrong. racist and wrong. Heller doesn’t mean the 2nd amendment is an individual right. it’s wrongly decided (and people insist it says things it doesn’t say). this would be the same.

Some people are taking issue with my even calling them scholars. I am going to continue to do that. From my standpoint, the fact that they are law professors makes this worse. That’s the point of the emphasis—to indicate my belief that this is not what we are supposed to be doing.

I know people are probably tired of this by now but I can’t let it go. Apply this reasoning to enslaved people who were forced into the country after the slave trade was banned. Unlawfully present. No pledge to obey. Anti-birthrighters can’t explain how the 14A nullified Dred Scott.

History buffs will know that every authoritarian leader eventually converges on some version of: "I *am* the state. I can not break the law, I am the law, the law is instantiated in me." Our march to authoritarianism so far has been excruciatingly by-the-book. Hitting every beat. No surprises.

These f**king idiots

So doge accidentally fired the people who manage the country’s nuclear arsenal, published classified data on their hacky website. Are we still going to be alive by next week?

i was joking about this the other day but it’s also imperative to actually destroy the GOP and its propaganda wings. it’s not enough to rebuild if the fruits of your labor can be clawed back in 4 years. these fuckers can never be allowed near the levers of power ever again

Almost 46,000 federal workers in Minnesota. If any significant number of them are terminated it will cause great harm to the everyone in this state.

Every time a study like this comes out, which is fairly regularly, it’s yet another indictment on @mndot.bsky.social’s weird behavior around @ourstreetsmn.org’s Twin Cities Boulevard.

I'm not a political strategist but it seems like "President personally orders destruction of thousands of American jobs" would be a potent message

BREAKING: StatNews reports that more than 5,000 HHS employees across NIH, CDC and other public health and research agencies will be fired this afternoon. www.statnews.com/2025/02/14/f...

Atlanta police have set up secret surveillance cameras outside of Stop Cop City activists' houses and gathering spots––and they refuse to answer any questions about the cameras www.theguardian.com/us-news/2025...

This is insane. Eric Adams is on Fox and Friends as Homan’s pet dog, and Holman is openly discussing “the agreement we came to,” and NO DEM ANYWHERE IS SAYING ANYTHING
