Raise your hand if you think a vote for Donald Trump last November was like the British people voting for Brexit AGAIN.

Also, authoritarianism will be even harder to unravel than Brexit.
I did have this convo with a Texan back in 2016 ... the man professed "to having 7 guns the government knew about and 8 others, should the government come to confiscate the ones they knew about"
Interesting times.
Actually, it is probably worse and didn't we agree on air that all this use of emojis is indicative of macho male behaviour.
Voting against their own interests is a very circular Venn diagram with the Brexit herberts.
Fool me once - shame on you.
Fool me twice - shame on me.
They are literally disappearing people from the streets.
Their allies of 2 months ago are issuing travel warnings that would normally be reserved for countries like Russia.
Trump's issued an exec order basically saying trans & non binary people don't exist. Essentially taking citizenship
They're broadcasting classified info on signal to cabinet members that were in Russia. The head of NIH is posting Russian propaganda on her X account.
And it goes on & on
I mean, you know all this.
Do you think Starmer
Germany proposed we rejoin the customs union, making things easier for businesses, cutting 2billion bits of paperwork & raising £8 billion annually.
If labour did that, there's no need for the cuts
Other countries realise the danger in buying American. But Westminster continues to waste tax £ on US weapons.
It's like they saw Brexit and thought 'we can go biggerer and stupiderer. We can Brexit tremendous'
So they did. Not because it was easy but because it was stupid.
Brexit was a stupid decision but don’t minimise Trump by putting them remotely on the same level
Still, most Brits voted for Brexit.
You don't get to downplay that.
I just don't like when one culture tries to dismiss its own failings by comparing itself to another.
And in any normal vote of this kind a ⅔ vote would be needed to make such a major change, but Cameron gambled the house.
How is it not a good argument to say that if the stakes are existential and you do not vote, then that counts as a vote in favor of the worst outcome?
Non-participation in a democratic system during existentialism is just as terrible as voting for the danger itself.
And the same people were behind it
Don’t be complacent, we’re in danger of Farage 1.0 over here.
We are not a superpower.
Re-Brexiting would only continue to show the world our crass stupidity, but it would not KILL OTHERS.
Can’t have both
