Okay, I've had my fill of dark, gritty, intense, and plain old depressing tv shows and movies for the time being.
Any recommendations for some joyful, uplighting, or just plain old FUN shows and movies? I need a little light.

For TV shows, I'd recommend giving Leverage a rewatch, as that's always a good time.
very funny, very charming, well worth bingeing (and still within the apparently tiny window that netflix cares about viewership)
Kaos was really good. it didn't feel griddy or depressing, but that's me.
Dogs in Space is cute and fun. It has dogs. What's not to like?
Or can I recommend the anime Space Dandy, which is secretly what happens when you take the boys and slap them into a populated universe on a Firefly-class transport ship in a Hawaiian shirt.
I will also always recommend Brisco County Jr., as it never got what it deserved. There’s a better parallel universe where it ran for 6 seasons.
TV: Letterkenny, What We Do in the Shadows.

The Nanny

Duncan Trussell interviews an eclectic array of people, and that interview is woven into a cartoon. Pendleton Ward of Adventure Time is on staff for the animation. Good stuff.
Natsume is returning names (names have power) that his grandmother collected and learns about her and makes friends along the way.
Other Netflix cartoons: Hilda, kipo and the age of the wonder beasts, she-ra princesses of power, centaur world, and the Carmen San Diego remake.
Disney+ Big city Greens is 👍
Hard to go wrong with The Muppet Show.
City of lost children.
Eraser head.
Naked Lunch.
For a real pick you get evil dead 2
Hi Score Girl - 90's arcade culture romcom

Ace Attorney - Goofy courtroom drama
Freakazoid! - Parody superhero

For movies, I usually get my joy and uplift from things like Miami Connection & Abraxas (BotW fodder). Flow sounds nice.
They remind me a lot of this old show I'd watch in Korea: 1 Night, 2 Days where the premise was to film a bunch of comedians being challenged out of their element.
Competitive and smart, but good at bombing: it's fun to watch.
Airplane, Loaded Weapon, The Naked Gun, Police Academy, Hot Shots, Robinhood: Men in Tights, Spaceballs, Zorro: the Gay Blade...
Even though most of the jokes definitely don't fly by today's standards.
I also enjoyed the Sonic Boom TV Show.
Also, Lower Decks is a delight.
Bluey
The G word
Glow
Working Moms
Big Mouth
Galavant
Derry Girls
I also hard there is a new Magic cartoon called SpongeBob Squarepants? Seems niche, but if it's good enough got Magic... (sigh in sarcasm)
Also gave campy shows: Psych, Eureka, IT Crowd, and Konosuba.
You CAN watch it elsewhere though!
Did I mention it was really good?
It is my favorite reality competition show. It is a great combo of engrossing, cutthroat, uplifting, wholesome, and frustrating. I look forward to every season. I find it immensely fun.
Brimming with uplift, funny as hell, and emotionally resonant.
Sorry I didn't discover it sooner.
How do you like animated? My favorites are She-Ra and the Princesses of Power, Kipo and the Age of Wonderbeasts, and The Owl House.
@snowqueenofhoth.bsky.social introduced me to the term Hopepunk, and it’s my vibe.

The Wet Hot American Summer show
I haven't seen the other, yet!
"The Devil is a Part Timer" is a fun sitcom about Satan being stuck in a human body on earth, trying to get good marks at work.**
*POV character of Komi (Tadano) has some weird insecurities about gender. It becomes clearer later that this is intentional and not a bias of the author.
**Season 1 of Devil has some annoying fanservice. This stops in season 2. I suspect they realized their audience is mainly female.
You've seen the 'Barbie' movie, right? It was good.
'See how they run' was a fun new take on Agatha Christie's works.
Next, more of a farce/black comedy, but I enjoyed "Drive Away Dolls" a lot (maybe just because I'm gay). I think it is uplifting, but it is poking fun at darker tropes.
I'm sure you've watched it before. The first rewatch is also very good if you haven't rewatched it.
If you have, The Good Place, Parks & Rec and I would say maybe Fantastic Mr Fox is where I'd go next
Bill Lawrence is a fantastic writer.
That's what I'm doing and the calories I see won't go directly to my hips.
Another easy anime watch that's what if there was a fantasy cooking show - Delicious in Dungeon
Absolute (task based) madness - Taskmaster
The Good Place
A Man on the Inside (same showrunner as The Good Place)
I can't recommand these 2 enough

It's formulaic but very funny and has a lot of heart, the comedy is a lot more edgy than I'd anticipated but I found myself enjoying it more than I'd ever thought.
#Matlock (old or new)
#MagnumPI (old or new)
#Hawaii50 (old or new)
Pert near anything with #Lego, animated shows on #PBS as well historical dramas (often imported from the #BBC).
But that's the vibe I am seeking for sure.
If you haven’t seen it I’d recommend Girls5eva
Similar vibe, though certainly more whimsical.
Derry girls is hilarious but you need the subtitles on. Netflix.
