my only parks water fountain experience is the one at orchard bend and it has that “winterization” thing where you just have to hold it down for 5-10 seconds and it’s always worked for me

nah, @pete-nash.bsky.social is peter robison, chair of VZAC i don’t think westerholm is on bsky

correct, your friend in Bells Bend cannot build a “D.A.D.U. [sic]” regardless of the amount of land i do not live in the “U.Z.O. [sic]”

I still think we should tie upzones to additional resources — like parks staffing. Places that are absorbing density? Give us more library hours, rec centers, pools, and parks staffing. And more bus shelters, sidewalk improvements and traffic calming.

for example, the 0.40 acre lot i live on is required to maintain 15 parking spaces because of the 6 affordable homes on it, even though we’ve never had more than 10 cars there at once

the DADU overlay is available in ~ 1% of the county parking mandates are when a property owner is required to build and maintain a certain number of parking spaces regardless of the need for or use of the parking spaces
comment in response to post
we also haven’t eliminated parking mandates or legalized ADUs outside of certain arbitrary overlays

the MNPD press release is the only english language acknowledgement of his death i’ve been able to find but all our english language local news scrambled to cover a separate (non-fatal) bicycle crash in bellevue the next morning www.nashville.gov/departments/...

five FTEs for special event banners, but still no one available to install quick build safety improvements in response to fatal crashes?

unfortunately half our council thinks exclusionary single family zoning is the solution to stormwater management

weren’t the mayor and chief development officer strongly opposed to the runaway use of TIF during their time on council?

do they not keep records of who rented the vehicle?

it would be less regressive than our current system of providing free trash service to single family homeowners while requiring folks whose home touches other people’s homes to pay the full USD tax rate and also pay for private trash service

they are closing off the 5 mile loop one sunday a month as part of a “summer streets” pilot

but it also means government retirement benefits like TCRS or tax deferred savings accounts like 457 also aren’t available DTO operates its own separate private pension plan

yeah, WeGo is just a dba for MTA, which has one employee, the CEO everyone else is employed by davidson transit organization an important nuance since public employees in tennessee have no right to collective bargaining like what exists between the private nonprofit DTO and ATU Local 1235

i’ve yet to make enough money that saving 10% in a roth ira has even gotten close to maxing out, so i guess i don’t see the benefit of a 401k with higher fees than a third party ira
comment in response to post
the pension is a good deal, and you can get paid out all the contributions plus interest if you leave before vesting you can set up a 401(k) but there’s no match or contribution from the company so kinda meh
comment in response to post
nah, the DTO pension is separate from metro or tcrs
comment in response to post
MTA only has one employee and idk what his benefits are

… millions of dollars assembling
comment in response to post
The next time you have a chance to chat with someone at AECOM, could you remind them of the millions of dollars of fatal crash analyses they have conducted for the city? Hopefully they consider the deadly deficiencies they've already identified on our existing roads when designing the new road.

the first trip on the 4 in the morning continues as an express route 18 to the airport getting you there just after 5:30 am just 52 minutes from door to terminal for the 6 new families living at the corner of McGavock and Oxford

It really is only a light exaggeration to say that every single day policymakers wake up, see a big red button labelled "end the housing crisis by not being stupid", and decide not to push the button

Truly remarkable living in a progressive city like Nashville, where we daisy chain multi-year studies that recommend other multi-year studies and avoid ever making any meaningful changes! (all while denying CM-led upzonings that comply with the general plan because of the never ending studies)

Well, no. @claxton6.bsky.social is still unsure and wants the council to pass a resolution requesting that the Planning department develop incentives for affordable, income-restricted units. Planning is full steam ahead on the DADU and single-stair part, but does council support affordable housing?
