Why the f do we need to make everything about gender and sexuality. What you're doing in your personal life is your business, you do not need to shove this in everyone's throat. If your whole personality is defined by your gender, you're a sad sad individual. Also the flag seems forced.
The reason for this is not to shove it in your face, its to show gay people that they are welcome to a historically very homophobic environment. There are young gay football players who never become pro because of homophobia within the sport both by team mates and fans. Its just a rainbow, chill :)
It's an interesting point of view I respect that, but on the other hand highlighting a specific group of people kind of excludes the others and defies the purpose. Also, I'm trying to engage in a discussion, it's not something that bothers me :)
So you know how there are anti-rascism campaigns? Well look at this as an anti-homophobia campaign. Should there be more awareness on something else, well sure.
Also it's fine that it doesn't bother you, but your first comment was rather dramatic...
Also, WHAT'S POLITICAL ABOUT BEING LGBTQ? There's plenty of white angry super machos followers of Tommy Robinson and Nigel Farage sucking dicks in dark alleys, so why so bothered about a little pride flag?
Don't have to be emotional. Haha
I support rights and freedom of expression for everyone. But I do not support LGBT actions, missions and agenda. Not the way it is organized. I do agree that no one should be disciminated of course.
Football is working class; the class of workers all over the world has always been a socioeconomic struggle AND identity, so yeah, football has been political since day 0 it was first invented and played. It's funny how those who want it politics-free they only cry so when it's not nazi garbage.
Lot of people set a good example of accepting people who are different in the late 80's when someone's fans were still wearing denim jackets and scarves on their wrists. Good to see that reflected here.
I wonder where people draw the line between hate and sharing a different opinion. There is no such thing as right and wrong when it comes to stuff like this. So labeling people as bigots is just dehumanizing. Most people aren’t evil and I think we all need to understand that.
Where I draw the line is the implications that the flag needs burning or smashing, that simply supporting the community makes people vomit and where that support is called disgusting.
I wonder where YOU draw the line between an opinion and outright abuse and derision. The line seems clear to me.
Oh nvm. I was looking at the other comments that were against this and they just said stuff like “they shouldn’t force lgbtq into sports”. The things you’re talking about are pretty far over the line lol
I'm a huge 2SLGTBQ+ ally, but I'm also a co-operator. That my friends is not a pride flag, but a co-operative flag. I'm happy it is being mistaken as such because our 2SLGTBQ+ friends need to know they are just accepted but that they are affirmed.
Indigenous ppl of North America refer to all Lesbian...Gay...Trans...Non-Binary...Queer ppl as 2-Spirit...this term has existed in many different tribes and bands since time immemorial.
Leeds United today announced their continued support for the ‘Rainbow Laces’ campaign, the use of Pride colours to support the message that Football is for everyone.
My point is that the use of the wrong flag to support Pride is the same as wearing the Tottenham Kit and saying you support Leeds
100% the sentiment is there and I’m 100% here for it. More so since I now understand why they posted this in the first place.
A 7 colour flag (chevron or not) is not the 6 colour Pride flag. It’s comes across as lazy, which I think undermines the message they are trying to share - which is a shame
It doesn’t it’s called representation. If it doesn’t represent you then clearly it’s not about you. Funny how many straight white people get mad cause something isn’t about them.
Or one has been practiced since humans worshipped the sun and the other was just a branch of the sun worshippers formed millenia after the first person worshipped the sun.
Wrong, it was practiced when our lord and savior Jesus Christ was born on that day and so to celebrate his welcome to the world we celebrate (Christ)mas
People were gay long, long before Christmas. So if it's all about how old and traditional something is I guess you're now pro homosexuality and anti Christmas?
The overwhelming irony of you calling your religious observance cherished and accepting others as 'modern response to mental illness' is powerful.
Sadly you are almost certainly lacking enough emotional intelligence to understand why.
To be fair, Christmas is not really about religious observance. I am a 5th generation atheist and we still celebrate the thing. I think the tree represents the secular and inclusive aspects of Christmas, whereas say baby Jesus would represent religious observance.
Sorry to rain on all ya’s parade, but if this is real it’s ridiculous. Keep sport politics and social disorder free. Quit shoving this down the throats of the rest of us.
And this comment is exactly why pride events exist. Is a rainbow flag really shoving any 'politics and social disorder' down your throat? Really? It's a gesture to show inclusion. Marching On TOGETHER

Now that I've expressed my definitely not "for likes" hatred, please feel free to like and repost.
(That's Leeds United by the way, being gay perfectly okay).
"woke nonsense" memes getting 300 likes

Such a refreshing feeling.
Big up Leeds FC, from a Gooner
Put this on the other place and you will get nothing but hatred and insults.

Quite a few are pretty decent.
“Homophobics ain’t alright, if you learn to love then you might love life”
This site must not turn into Twitter where prejudice is validated by inaction. Things do not change without decent people speaking up.
I wonder where YOU draw the line between an opinion and outright abuse and derision. The line seems clear to me.
Love the sentiment but the execution is disappointing. Unless I’ve missed the meeting where we voted on the flag?

But cool. Great. Keep it up.
* except Manchester United fans, no welcome or love for you
Sadly you are almost certainly lacking enough emotional intelligence to understand why.
