Reddit’s collective action of moderators banning links to X is more powerful than you think.
Often when I’m doing research for articles, Reddit hits top 5 in Google results.
This will have a cumulative effect for SEO and drive X even further off the main road of the internet highway.

(Slight Hyperbole, but phpBB forums and similar are functionally dead)
All the content aggregators and tech bros seem to be in big peer groups (not surprising given how tight tech circles can get). They're starting to make more moves in unison.
I'm still technically a mod on the Disneyland subreddit, but Reddit is a shell of what it once was
When I search google I often add “Reddit” to the end of my query.
Mine is pretty niche because it’s based on a small geographical area and gained over 250 subscribers in hours. Yours is much more broad and should do better.
Some are banning links to FB, META, and X
Use https://craigslist.org instead!
It’s owned by Craig Newmark, a philanthropist who in December 2022 pledged to give nearly all his wealth to charity!

If you’re not a m/billionaire, you’re not in the club, and you will suffer for it. If Bezos and Zuck think THEIR paychecks will suffer under Trump, what chance do we have? Rethink your priorities. Rethink your alignments. No war but class war.
Reddit has shit all over its moderators before. It has managed to keep all of this free labor with the promise of power and autonomy that it will take back at a moment's notice.
There's people on there deep discussing literature. I really like Dostoevsky and the forum on there is fantastic.
They must've fixed their issues.
But it is amazing how much granular detail there is.
It's a good place for recommendations on purchases or repairs.
One advantage is there is less recency bias. Easy to find 10-20 year old threads. Which I like
I'm still on Twitter, but I have been increasingly more on BlueSky.
People will need time for adjustment.
It does help BlueSky is finally being reasonably active.
A tidal wave of twisted lies,
Spreads unchecked through X’s skies.
Reddit bans what X lets slide,

In the age of AI, it's even more important, but you have to be more careful to find a consensus opinion.

Google's literally stealing traffic from Reddit and preventing folks from going to the site.
Especially since they banned me for saying Russia should face what they're dishing out. LMAO.
Some will ban you for saying that
Some will have people saying that is too merciful
I got permabanned because I said that if that guy was not careful, someone might actually cap him and succeed. It was said out of human concern (yes even for a shitstain like him) and I was permabanned for it.
My most recent one got banned a coupld ays ago after 3 years of zero moderator activity for ban evasion :/
Reddit is not on your side and that's been proven time and again. The admins are the same far right, neo nazi tech bros that run X.
It's a pageant for you guys to feel good about yourselves. Get off reddit. Run.
Could they go back on it? Sure. But for the moment it seems like they're holding off
If they responded, it was a lie.
But sure man: repeat their press release lies for free. Nothing weird about that.
It happened fast, organically, and nearly universally.
That's a big rejection.
The Civil War is starting online. Time to pick sides.
That's your take?
Gonna have to keep adjusting for the long fight.

All those great tweets will be lost to screenshots, like tears in rain.
