My favorite genre of pet interaction is “Fluffy is just happy to be included” where said pet has no idea what is going on but wants to participate anyway

my daughter and I maneuvering an allergy cover onto a queen-size mattress; our little Yorkie, VERY nervous, convinced that the most helpful place for her is directly underneath the cumbersome mattress
Funny story about this
We have to get the family dog Christmas presents because she feels very left out when we all open gifts and she doesn’t have anything
Ah, I see you've met the gods' own himbo and my precious idiot son, Flip Flop.
He's made of drama and very soft ears, once tried to befriend a duck, and has ridden a city bus. He was unsuccessful in his attempt to steal a small child. He's happy to be here and allergic to not getting attention.
I'm afraid I'm fresh out. But I do have plenty of, "lots of people are here, it must be to play with me. I wonder if any of them have dropped food on the floor?"
I have a whole collection of pictures of my cats in board game boxes since they like to curl up in them to watch us play and maybe attack some of the pieces if they get bored.
Omg! Yes! The black cat (Mia) is always “talking” out loud and demanding things, she’s the boss of the house and Sebastian (tabby) is always purring and asking to be petted
My cat does the same thing every time I play something, she lies on my lap and sometimes looks at the screen, there is no individual space and no time alone
You’ve just described my attitude when friends with very deep knowledge completely outside my part of our mutual Venn diagram get into joyous discussion. I just wag my tail and smile.
If she doesn't get physical contact or play, our pup will ultimately lay down and chill, but every so often as we are talking, she will let out exasperated sighs and little huffs. And we look and address her and say lovely things about her and she's fine for about another half an hour
My third cat will huff and stomp off (audibly stomp) if he doesn't get the play or attention he wants. He was the most dramatic teenager. Huff, stomp off *up* the stairs, hop the baby gate with another huff into his Fortress of Solitude (guest bath cabinet with bed/box) Full On Drama.
My dog is like that any time we go out and it's not for a dog walk. Dancing and racing down the hall to the elevator and back. Even if I just have to run an errand and she'll be staying in the car. ADVENTURE. And maybe snacks.
No sarcasm meant, despite my other commitment. We need more people to break out of passivity, even if in the beginning they have no idea what is going on.
Our cat watches Star Trek with us. Sometimes attempts to intercept Federation ships, but he's mostly cool about it. Is currently helping my wife do yoga as well. :)
Our cat Vesper, who's usually on a lap, sits loaf-style on the rug and gazes at the TV whenever we're watching it, at which times we refer to her as "Media Cat." It is remarkably consistent.
One of the sweetest/funniest things was when Bella cat was very confused about me being in the tub, but sat on the side and very gingerly let the tip of her tail dip into the water. Like, "I do not understand why you are here, but I will still join you at least this much."
If I’m out doing yard stuff my dog follows me around also doing yard stuff, which for him is digging holes. Once I was up on a ladder and it started tilting and I looked down and saw that he was digging a hole under one leg of the ladder.
When visitors would call my previous cat, Jethro, would saunter in & flop down on the rug. If that didn't get him included in the conversation, he would flip over dramatically as if he had been shot, to see if someone would talk to him.
I just came home from 24 days away (conference in Europe that I combined with a vacation) and my youngest dude combined yelling at me about how long I had been gone with rolling around on my feet to get pets. He's the chattiest of my three chatty cats.
My dog growing up would do this thing where she would make sure she had your attention (often this involved getting right up in your face) and then look straight at you and pant breathily in a very deliberate and unusual way. After years and years of this I realized - she was mimicking us laughing.
My previous dog would just sit next to me and grin ear to ear, we used to quote Galaxy Quest to describe how happy he was just to hang out with everyone.
Like the dog agility trials where the lumbering Burmese goes up the ramp, jumps off, crawls through the tunnel, goes around the weave poles, looks for pets from the crowd and leaves.
Every single evening, whether it’s to watch Star Trek or listen to Beethoven, Ezri settles onto my lap in the recliner. Her ears may twitch a bit during space battles or fortissimos, but otherwise it’s the ritual of a good wash followed by a comfortable nap! 😊
Our elderly cat sits on the sofa between us every morning while we drink coffee and attempt to adult. And then she starts screaming until I scratch her head.
So, I'll slump back onto the sofa feet up, hit the tv remote & mine'll jump on my belly to sit upright facing me & start a nosebump frenzy. He'll then just dump his carcass across me, meaning I have to hold him like a baby
I cannot remember the last time I saw the 1st 5 mins of a tv show/movie🤣
Our dog loves people singing (sometimes will join in if it’s high-pitched). When we sing happy birthday he gets extra excited. On his birthday this year when we sang it *to* him halfway through it was just too much joy and he bolted to another room to find a stuffie
My grey parrot loves coming on outings. Festivals in the park, Pokémon Go community day, even just to walk around the mall. She loves it, and she loves all the attention she gets in her carrier or backpack. Hasn't got a single clue what's going on other than that.

(Especially if there are rustling bits of pattern tissue around.)

I have my dogs wake up my teen son by digging him out of bed.
The terrier is brilliant, and burrows under the covers to get him. The shih tzu is not, and will make digging motions on top of the blanket.
He's ecstatic while he does it, but he's no help at all!
My Yorkie was a pro at this. She was the most adorably passive aggressive dog.

I've lost count of the number of times I have almost chopped a chicken foot off with a spade
Thankfully, I have avoided playing poker.
He RUNS to get on my lap when he hears the phone ring.
He's also very into watching television.
Max: Same
So cute!

Based on that story, Fluffy should be really grateful it gets to participate in anything other than a dog adoption party.
