I was always in both places but posted to the other place more I guess due to familiarity than anything. Finally decided inam done with it. Better late than never
Also: One of Bluesky's greatest strengths is its Feeds. You are not locked into a single, unknowable algorithm. Follow different Feeds and flip between them. Make your own using SkyFeed, even!

I feel like at this point if an artist continues to post on Twitter and refuses to join here or anywhere else, they're complacent and supportive of what Musk does.
To be fair it's rough starting over especially if they have a decent following on Twitter. I've seen a few artists on Bsky say they've received less sales since not using Twitter.
A lot of people's livelihood depends on it and while I do wish for mass migration I do understand their side.
Along with donβt quote dunk, I would encourage people not to repost or link offensive content from Twitter over here. It just pollutes the water. If I want to see ignorant garbage, Iβll go there and see it.
appreciate this post but completely disagree on the "seeing twice as many interactions with 10% the followers" bit lol. not sure where you're getting these numbers from but neither I nor many many artists I know are getting one tenth of the interactions we used to have
I wish I found out about that "post 5 to 10 times before following anyone" suggestion earlier. Granted, so far the people I've been following here have almost entirely been carryovers from Twitter.
after losing my twitter account in May (literally woke up on a saturday to see the account was suspended without any email why and every appeal being auto denied) even though I did make a backup, yeah I'm so done with twitter like I spent 4 years to build up an audience just to lose it xd
I use Sky Follower Bridge every once in a while as people migrate from there to here, and it has improved a lot since last time I used it a few months ago.
In contrast, Twitter is becoming horrible to use especially without the Control Panel. How can people even navigate there?
Thank you for this post! I joined a few month ago, but I've not been persistant and ended by becoming unactive.
Time to seriously rebuild a community here! πͺ
Am I missing something here? Is the settings page only accessible on desktop or something? I can never find it when I'm trying to follow one of these posts
Some of us have been here for longer than others, even way back when Bsky was invite only and the invites were handed out in punch cards, and when DMs were only "available" by asking very nicely to the operator at the switchboards to connect you in private mode.
This immediately surfaced thoughts of Rosemary from Hong Kong Fooey.
Though we are old enough to have had a rotary dial phone and a 'party line' number when we were young, the days of switchboard operators had largely passed even then.
It really seems like yesterday we fled from Twitter, but can't believe it's been several decades since the change, definitely don't miss dialing an operator!
An incredibly useful tool for finding the people you follow on twitter the addon "Sky Follower Bridge", it's available both for Chrome and Firefox, install it and run it on your twitter follows page and it'll one by one let you click to follow people on bluesky, Just be sure that they match up!
I keep trying to run it myself but it never shows a matched result, not sure what Iβm doing incorrectly, but havenβt seen anyone comment about it either.
I will underline the importance of making sure that the accounts found match with the twitter profile, sometimes it can be a bit wonky as it only has profiles, names, handles etc to go by (or if they've directly linked themselves between the sites of course)
i cant seem to find the reply filters, but maybe it has to do with them changing the names of some of the settings like "home feed preferences" is now "following feed preferences"
The option, where you could tweak the shown replies (in your Following Feed) to/from people you follow, based on the number of likes, was removed several weeks ago. At the moment there is only a simple option where you can turn replies (in your Following Feed) to/from people (you follow) on or off.

I'm going to tag you on the ho-to threads so you can go through at your leisure
We have DMs
People really encourage +ATL text with photos here
You can easily control your algorithm by the Feeds (lists) you add.
It's friendly

Maybe that's why they're all still there, too: because artists are still there.
Every bit of engagement created on Twitter helps Elon succeed.
Move and be a force for positive change. Or even just post in both places and encourage people to follow you here.
You love to see it β€οΈ
ngl I've done if this yet but I should
Is the warn feature okay? I put the warn thing on for my main account.
Okay, now lemme actually read this. π π

Wish it was also noted in the image itself, but thank you. β€οΈβ€οΈβ€οΈ
