Hate to use a something M has suggested but it might be time to get primaried for that kind of attitude. In the current climate it seems like he is just asking for it. I only read Leah's post initially and thought it was an R speaking. Was surprised to see it was a Dem. Time for new voice there.
In some cases it is not going to be enough to just do the primaries. Some of these Do Nothing Dems need to GO (looking at you Richie Torres) even if it means GOP taking the seat for 2 years.
GOP holds both chambers. Dems arent putting up any resistance. therefore there is little difference if you are down 3 reps or 25 reps when you are in the minority. So take this time to flush these ass wipes now, before the tides turn and we are up by 4 and NEED everyone.
I am most definitely not thinking too small I'm talking about primary every single one and then not voting in the general if they survived the primary challenge.
And it isn't a tea party moment the tea party was a koch project.
Torres's district is one of the bluest in the country. @jamaalbowmanny.bsky.social could walk right into that seat whether Torres runs again or tries to move up (lol) to gov and opens it.
I am convinced the dem congress has decided to take Carville's advice here: sit back and let it burn, then swoop in for midterms, offering fire extinguishers and rebuild plans.
That's just it: for some it certainly is. Some of them will lose their seats over this and they are willing to take that risk to get through to all the low info/non voters.
Text in an image can't be filtered, read by screen readers to the user, it's just "".
Alt-Text or ALTernative Text should contain a text-based description of what is visible in the image.
And can be used by above tools and anyone else who rely on it.
To answer your question: Yes, there are many tools out there, which rely on Alt-Text, some read it, some convert it to braille or simply use increased font sizes to be read with weak eyes.
I suspect his attitude of "we really don't have anything to worry about-you people are over reacting" infects huge parts of the Fed elected Dems and helps explain stuff like Dick Durban working hard to hand Musk and Meta a win on Sec 230 at the determent of free speech.
People are becoming more frustrated with politicians like Lynch — despite agreeing on positions — because they see hime and other Democrats as being unwilling or unable to do anything to fight Trump.
Every democratic incumbent needs to be primaried. If they win, great, they have their constituents support . But every single Democrat needs their mettle tested, especially in safe blue seats. Enough of the status quo bullshit from milk toast incumbents …
Up and down our system, we have a bunch of people who consider themselves not "of the people" but "above the people." Money and too long in power seems to rot brains.
"i get to decide i'm elected" is a HELL of a thing to say....
but that essentially HAS been true, at least for the past 20-ish years. politicians don't do things in the best interests of constituents and are deeply disconnected from the idea of being PUBLIC SERVANTS enacting the will of the people.
(also why they're ok w nazis framing public servants as the enemy- they don't consider themselves in the category!)
anyway modern politicians at best only think about legislating. "what support do i need to get [x] bill passed" but the bill is really for whatever kickback they've slid into add-ons.

Does anyone have the link to the House of Representatives so we can see how our Reps are voting , please? 🙏🏽
This is the link for the Senate👇🏽
When politicians believe their constituents are not powerful enough, not intelligent enough to be in their shoes, it’s time to chose another pair of shoes.
Just a thought: if you live in one of the 19 states with recall provisions, shouldn't you be gathering signatures to oust some of these nutso, magat idiot republicans and faithless dems? Recent town hall brouhahas suggest there just might be enough support for this?

I vote for someone to represent me, not rule over me.
They're one of us; they work *for* us. And most importantly, they *serve at our pleasure.*
To Wahhhh.
I get to decide that I am elected?

In what universe does that make sense?

Not great, IMO.

“I will act based on your concerns, constituent”
He is complicit.
You would reach more people, when you add a good description into the Alt-text field.
That is pretty easy, especially, when your image just contain text.
This way, you support visually impaired people and everyone else, who rely on a good filled Alt-text.

Still, this statement is simply unacceptable. Even worse, I’m sure it’s shared by other career politicians. We need to primary them.
