I live somewhere with not a lot of other options that are good (we have no Costco, for ex.) but I have certainly bought less there since they decided to shoot themselves in the foot. I find I pay more attention to when the (union! non-Kroger) grocery store puts toilet paper on sale, for one thing.

The stock dropped again today because sales have dropped significantly in California (one of the biggest EV markets in the US).

I do wonder if some of the government contracts Musk is getting may end up benefitting Tesla. I think there was a big one for EV trucks, if I'm remembering correctly.

I would counter they did know who their customer base was, they just didn't believe the customer base cared enough to change their habits if they dropped DEI. OTOH, there is a huge population who were "boycotting" them but never shopped there in the first place that they were attempting to attract

We used to go to ours all the time pre-2020 via transit, even had a wedding registry there. They were the obvious 'who do we switch to from Amazon' option before they rolled over. We'll find somewhere else.
