I recommend Thomase Jefferson and Thomas Paine. Read as much of both of them as you can get your hands on. If it doesn't radically change your view of America, read it over again and repeat until you understand just how far we've strayed from the original intention.

I've also been working my way through House of Leaves with a buddy for awhile. Very well written and fantastic read, but a bit of a difficult read. Absolutely recommend it, but only if you have a friend to embark on a book that makes you think a little too much.
Huge supporter of libraries and collect memberships everywhere I can. I buy from indi and used as well. I will also go into BnN as long as not censoring books since need all the book access right now.
I agree let’s support those libraries! And in my rural community, I am happy to support our Barnes & Noble that consistently has Black History Month and Banned book displays! Also compared to Amazon it feels like supporting small business☺️
Barnes and Noble is the only good big physical media store we have. Although they are a big company, they still display banned, black, LGBTQ books and also sell movies and music. I'll keep supporting my local store as much as any other local library and business.
Also "The Rise and Fall of the Third Reich." Today I learned that in the 1930s after Hitler seized power, the Reichstag (kind of like Congress) didn't have a purpose anymore. There were no laws, only "decrees" that Hitler made - those were the laws. Kind of like, I don't know, executive orders?

B&N actually works as a distributor for many independent bookstores. They’re not like Walmart, trying to squash everyone out. Their new leadership sees value in ANY bookstore.

Go pay your employees an adequate wage. Bring back annual pay increases even if it means your shareholders get a fraction less on their bonuses. I know people who have worked for your company for YEARS and y’all are a legitimately bad company to work for.
