i admit, i've tended to nod nod and go along w/idea that hijras & other "3rd sex" groups somehow get freedom & respect they don't traditionally get in benighted West
No idea ofc how this applies to 3rd sex groups in other cultures, but def a warning to be wary
As I said in when I QSed, I think of the problem as not just Patriarchy but as an enforced dominance hierarchy, of which patriarchy is a (the?) leading example.

"Eunuch" peoples. Alexander the Great even had a relationship a Persian feminine eunuch name Bagoas for 4 years. Scripture only speaks well of gender diverse people.

Itβsβ¦ idk, this is poor metaphor, but, itβs like finding out the framework I was told was necessary was built specifically to hide my sisters and I from one another.
