this is also why i think there should be 2 years compulsory retail/food service for everyone. listening to a 43 year old sous chef on cocaine talk about his life in a 90 degree kitchen will change you more than any amount of theory

a lot of people love to talk about revolution and camaraderie and "the commune" and then can't speak to a Normie for five minutes without losing their mind. i have bad news about the people who will also be in the commune

Teenage me realized i wasn't comfortable in public-facing work & i managed to avoid it until recently.
(sigh) ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
That was an average night at my last job especially when I was a line cook from 2007-2013 and a kitchen tech in 2021 (Last few months before I quit.)
Custodians and dishwashers can tune out the BS easier.
Now at 50, I hate people.
You will be a much better parent and human being.
1) Software doesn't fix anything on it's own.
2) People only care if it hinders their work.
3) Thankful daily that I don't work on a production line.
nice to know nothing has changed
i am physically incapable of being rude or unreasonable with food service & store employees
Having them talk to, say, the average (uninformed) person will likely have them.....exiting stage left.
But it's the not the Normal person's fault, so 🤷♂️
Miserable job. At least it was close to home at the time.
It was horrible.
I am soooo nice to call center folks.
I used to reverse nice people's charges line by line going months back + give them the bulk $ allowed on top of that
I'm a union man.
Waiting tables taught me a lot about quietly tolerating peoples bizarre abnomalities
which was a huge change from sitting behind a desk working in IT
I lost 20 lbs and my feet almost fell off but holy crap, I would do it again
Look at fancy pants over here, getting to work in AC :(
