Gorgeous ?? Or a look into the future of America and what Washington DC will look like in a few more weeks, when PUTIN is still destroying everything with the help of ALL of his RUSSIAN ASSETS in the white house and maggots in congress
@pattonoswalt.bsky.social - could it possibly be used to house homeless people? My daughter says these malls would be perfect. Food courts for cooking massive meals, multiple bathrooms, just no showers. #endhomelessness
This one is a mini-mall.
The hollowed out big regional malls can be re-made into amazing complexes/mini cities to meet affordable and homeless housing needs, plus social services, local retail, adult education, libraries, training centers, and RV housing in the lots.
The cracked and splitting pavement really allows one feel as though their world is as temporary and artificial as concrete, or those shitty little patch jobs they do in spring that never last half way into summer. Thank god I didn't have to think about nature though, whew! 😂
I was considering even the basic step of clearing that land of ramshackle structures, the open space could serve as a garden opportunity until other uses… eyesores gone enhance ppl neighborhood even before other development.
You have caring suggestions ❤️
I’m assuming it’s a food desert from the state of things. Detroit + neighborhoods have loved growing their own choice of fresh veggies… benches 👍🏽
Ahah, they should put us on the planning committee ✌🏽
I know the area well, grew up in Pacoima/Arleta. It’s sad. It’s not a wealthy area, but I have many great childhood memories of that area. I still live in the valley.
Tony B of Island Wide Real Estate in Staten Island could get this sold in one weekend FLAT! “Two stores, tree stores- very income generating, very desirable area. Call Island Wide Real Estate West and ask for Tony B.”
LA needs to build up, not out. Places like this are an opportunity. Build apartments in the upper stories. Keep the ground level for retail, similar to what we have in NYC.
Doing that depends on when the structure was built or if you're going to tear down and build new. Many older buildings aren't up to modern seismic building codes and they cannot be built upon unless brought up to code, and that is really costly to do on older structures. Take down build new is safer
LA is building up. There’s no place
to build out. Apartments with ground floor retail have sprung up everywhere. Problem is, these apartments are priced out of reach of most folks. This particular property is in an underserved area. Developers won’t make that kind of investment in this community.
This recent L.A. office that I was sent to was troubling. Since it looks more like a dystopian James Cameron miniature than reality, I was very suspicious, especially considering how many friends I have in the hidden camera TB world.
But nope, my door is the wood one, 2nd floor, near STASH.
Its location would be awesome for some cheap condos. Beside the extremely valued area there and around and the capitalist who would sell them for $700k each
I saw this and instantly thought of the site where Mr C visits steam-pot Philip Jeffries! Is that the same? Is that what you mean? I can’t find the clip on YT…
Los Angeles really blew my mind, my first time visiting. Even Seattle doesn't transition from city to rural, mountain to flat, developed to abandoned quite like LA.
Not putting this place down, but what you see here are results of late-stage capitalism featuring unaffordable insurance. Might want to get yourself used to these scenes… they exist everywhere

This is about to be America in general, hollowed out, and empty. What was once a building that brought people together is now something that’s a forgotten relic of its time.
When people found it more profitable to leave these buildings vacant for the write off, then to have people use them is a prime example of America's backward thinking.

Was disappointed.
If it gives you the scent of Mountain Grown Folgers, just disregard that.
They have to use it to cover the scent of dried blood.
I.C.E. is interested.

So LA. I love it 🖤🌞
You make the call
…&build some nonprofit affordable housing…
…or a playground…
…or a free clinic…
…or something else useful to the local folks!
GOVERNMENTS EXIST TO PROVIDE SERVICES TO THEIR CITIZENS…
…NOT to help private corps make a fkn profit!
#TaxTheRich
…which I’d guess is probably affordable housing…
…& water preservation…
…so, maybe a nonprofit solar-powered hydroponic indoor garden on the ground floor…
…& 6 stories of nonprofit apts on top…
…all gvmnt-funded/run!
IT’S GVMNT’S DUTY TO PROVIDE FOR CITIZENS!
You have caring suggestions ❤️
…you could bulldoze it down to the parking lot & foundation…clear the debris…add an outdoor drinking fountain & shaded benches…
…& tell locals they can use it…
…but to prevent it from becoming gang territory, you need paid employees (& security) actively doing something there
Ahah, they should put us on the planning committee ✌🏽
Or maybe a coup’s headquarters?
Uh hem, a shelter’s a good idea.

pave paradise and put up a parking lot
The Google street view is pretty typical of many of the similar such areas of poor investment.

I look at it and see an opportunity for a retro space age makeover
Ooooooh bop bop bop
Never heard it before but I instantly know what it is.
