Just this morning my daughter accidently dropped her carrot on my dog and you would think it was the most exciting thing that has ever happened to him.
My dog loves carrot.
Saw me pull one from the vegetable patch one day. Came home the next day to an entirely dug up vegetable patch. He still digs every so often, hopeful another is just there.
Oh man my dogs would follow us around the house any time we were eating one until the core was available. They never wanted the full ones, just the ones we were enjoying.
Couldn't say any word that sounded like "banana" around my Frankie.
Gone now two years--I still hesitate before talking about the yellow fruit outloud💔
I had a chihuahua who could eat half a head of cauliflower, half a crown of broccoli, and finish it off with some carrots and raw peanuts. (Exaggerating obvi lol)
I swear he was a reincarnated rabbit lol
According to Wisdom Panel, she is chihuahua/staffy/pit bull but she definitely has the stomach of a labrador. I don't think we've found anything she won't eat yet!
So those big bags of carrots for juicing are great. I’d just buy those instead of more expensive treats because apparently my dogs were horses and liked the huge carrots to gnaw on better.
I had a cat who loved vegetables, and when I was clearing the dinner table, I always had to give her a half-dozen green beans, or a stalk of broccoli, or some corn, or whatever we'd had. She wasn't into raw carrots but she liked them cooked. Only vegetarian cat I ever met.
I made a mistake similar to that with a cat I had when I was a girl. He seemed very interested in a cucumber salad sandwich I was eating so I offered him a vinegar soaked cucumber. I created a monster.
Maddox (who is also a dog) does not care for carrots but is thrilled that you have discovered your Right and True Duty to the bless Mika (a dog) with her preferred snack
Our cat eyeing up my food
Me- you won’t like it
Cat - I might
Me- ok smell it , you won’t like it
Cat - yummy , chomping , can I some more
Me - oh %#€¥$ No not another stupid thing our cat likes
Cantaloupe. He's dead asleep in the other room. Snoring. I cut a cantaloupe open. 8.75 seconds later he's dancing at my feet, impatient for me to give him his cantaloupe rind.
Cantaloupe rind goes to our chickens and rabbits. So far Lucy hasn't asked for any. But until 6 months ago, she was outside only as she is a working farm dog. But at age 11 and having been very sick for awhile, she is now inside and has access to foods she never had before
She is doing better but leptospirosis often causes lingering liver damage and I can see her digestion isn't as good as it used to be, especially for fats. And she has struggled to get back up to her old weight. Plus she lost her 2nd coat, the undercoat fell out in clumps and hasn't grown back yet
Every summer I plant extra green beans for little Finny, who becomes completely outraged when I try to pick the beans from the plants that are not his because in his mind ALL THE BEANS EVERYWHERE ALL THE TIME ARE HIS BEANS.
Best part of cooking for me was tossing a carrot to our boy! I loved his crunching! My 93 year old mother in law would be in fits of giggles watching him. Both are gone now and I miss them every day. So, enjoy every “Mike munch”!
Ugh! I hate autocorrect! I checked before I pressed the reply button and it said “Mika Munch”. It must have changed the instant I pressed the reply button!
Whenever I use frozen peas, corn kernels or green beans in cooking, I must first make an offering of these ingredients to the Great Hound (a 6 kilo elderly spoodle named Chase)
I think he just likes them because they're cold and crunchy, but at least they're a healthy alternative to dog treats, he goes bonkers for them the moment he hears the freezer door open and the rustle of the bag
Watching/listening to your dog eating a carrot stick is one of the best parts of having a dog! And they’re a great healthy alternative to regular dog treats
My dogs who passed away loved carrots so much that whenever I cooked with carrots, I had to peel them in hiding. Otherwise I had to feed them carrots as their dinners.
A small price to pay for a lifetime (the dog's) of unconditional love and loyalty. i have adopted a good number dogs (all rescues except for a couple) and when one has died i always think back on his/her life and feel that they had done much more for me than i had done for them. Carrots for Mika!

I see nothing wrong with this.
🐶 barooooooo.
Not a moment’s peace until I give him a bite.
And that apple core? That I was gonna throw in the compost bin???
Not a chance. 😂
I ask them what part of being obligate carnivores do they not understand…
