FDR once bragged to a massive crowd at Madison Square Garden that the richest people in the nation hated him and “I welcome their hatred.”
Just weeks later, he was re-elected with 61% of the vote in a 523-8 blowout in the Electoral College.
Voters *like* politicians who make the right enemies.

The institutional Democratic Party is guided by an almost pathological level of conflict avoidance in almost every direction. “What can we do to make the least number of people mad?” is just a bankrupt way to operate.

Nothing will change as long as the Schumer/Pelosi wing of the Dem party is in congress. They will keep doing the same thing because everyone keeps donating and voting for the same people.
And yet when they send you folks fundraising emails, representing a shift *away* from corporate money, you screech like they just slammed your dicks in a drawer.
It was the fucking deathblow to American democracy
I’m not happy about it. It’s done now, so we move on.
(Am now curious as to where those 8 EC votes came from.)
You are acting like this is the ‘before’ times in Congress, with the same calculus and consequences. It’s not. Dems have to show themselves to be the united opposition, and the Senate tomorrow is the time and place to do it.
NO to Cloture, NO to GOP CR.
It's not hard.

Voters like people who work for the good of the the American people.
So seeing as how it even works when it is not true like it did for trump, Dems should definitely welcome the hatred of trump and Elon-types.
Until elected Democrats decouple themselves from corporate interests who desire the status quo, this party is lost.
We are seeing which of those opposing constituencies matters most.
IMO they should say to the fat cats “we don’t care what you want— we’re for the little guys, if you believe in that then join us”
That’s 1000 million.
Put a cap on it!!!
Pass it on. ✊

If only the Democratic Party could have found an example of that sort of tactic bearing fruit. Anywhere!
Oh well, it's a mystery...
I agree with your sentiment. Hoping not to experience another Great Depression, however.
Why would a GOP member risk breaking if there would be a "reach across the isles" Dem replace their vote?
Unfortunately the War derailed the bigger reforms he wanted to put into place.
War tends to bring out more conservative views in the electorate.
I'm out. If they're not a check on fascism they have no redeeming qualities worth supporting.
We all take it for granted but those oligarchs are trying to take us back to 1920’s
