Yes, I know! You should pull in, stop and turn around immediately. That's a violation of all three rules. No sign should tell us what to do, right? Maybe you should knock down the sign as well.
Huh, I didn’t notice that. This is the best image I could find online. Having been to Culver City I’ve seen a version of this parking sign (but it was wide, not tall) I couldn’t find my own photo, though 🫤
Part one with the solid advice of not using the phone while driving. Part two, I pointed out the no U-Turns, and it seems to just be hanging there, not able to figure out what to do next 😆
The signage is correct there, the right lane can turn right onto the divided highway, both lanes may cross and then must turn left and the signs across the way correctly indicate it's one way to the left after the divide. In typical traffic, you'd have to stop in the divide then turn left.
That's true, except here in Michigan when at a full intersection with a divided street, instead of a three-way like this one, there is typically no left turn option at the light and instead you must turn right and then hit a u turn
Sometimes they avoid the traffic light completely but otherwise I think it makes the lights' cycles faster and and it can prevent head on collisions. I know a lot of people think it's awkward but I like it
Ohio has been using an increasing number of round-a-bouts instead of this kind of mess, including divided highway situations. I'm not fond of them but they're growing on me.
Indicating the left lane is allowed to turn left would result in some people driving the wrong way down a divided highway or blocking incoming traffic (which has the right of way) turning left from the opposite side of the divided highway.
ok, so you're about to get to a passing zone, so switch lanes, then do a u-turn by turning to the right and switch back to the proper lane. since clearly the sign just says you can't do a left-hand u-turn
