The Atlantic is preparing to hire roughly a dozen new reporters and editors to beef up its politics coverage as President-elect Donald Trump returns to the White House.
The magazine is recruiting from a crosstown rival, The Washington Post, to bolster its political staff.

When do I start?
I no longer put my trust in any media that is beholden to corporate interests... esp. those who have already bent the knee to Trump.
We need REAL journalism, not state propaganda.
The Atlantic poaching talent is not abnormal within the marketplace. The Atlantic has struggled the last few years as has much of the print and online media
No sanewashing;
No biased Trump pandering;
No misleading headlines that downplay unfolding fascism.
If only . . .
What on earth a waste of time the NYT is. They offer an article written by the Chief Justice whining about the result of their unpopular rulings and don't open for comments from the people who feel discounted by that same court.
Good job, NYT. Always listening to your readers.
The MSM has let us down for a decade now. Podcast interviews of news makers lasting 45-55 minutes are the better way to get a perspective on an issue I care about. Available across all spectrums of ideas.
(I do keep my NYT puzzle subscription though. It's an addiction.)
Until then, sanewash that lunatic til the cows come home…I ain’t reading it.
Why is The Atlantic hiring these people? Is this a legacy media circle-jerk thing?
Remember in the early days of the information super Highway where every newspaper was available for free then as they realize that was not sustainable, and they experimented with different ways of charging readers…
While in the meantime …

If the latter, what difference will it nake?
You don't deserve reporters of that calibre.
No one in the main stream media has the guts to fact check this slime ball when so much of what he says are lies!
They needed to this 2 years ago
Go fuck yourself
You sem to have 'slumbered' through all of them.
I’m gladly keeping my NYT subscription and am starting the Atlantic print
We must support real reporting
People overreact to opinion and do not read the global and investigative reporting

During the Iraq war, she cited the contradictory views of the WSJ op-ed and their straight news section.
Point is... I could run up the store and buy
the WSJ.
That's gone now.
Meanwhile, what do we do about the people whose only source is 10 min of Good Morning America, if even that?
My issue, though is... we know what THEY think.
The fight straw man liberals.
I always said that 'liberals learn about conservatives from conservatives, while conservatives learn about liberals from conservatives.'
We always subscribed to the WaPo and the NYT.
Between the 2 of us it will be an issue.
I fear we may be lost to disinformation for a long time.
It IS true that the more you know, the more frustrated you are.
They're just as culpable as the others.
We need muthafuckin' Journalism and Reporting TO SPEAK TO POWER!

I already have a NY Times subscription but I’ve been close to cancelling it on a few occasions.
Some of your anti Biden garbage was really too much. 😒
Though your coverage of the #skibiditoliets will not be matched.
Y'all flushed out that story.
