Pay to play America. In the future, You will have to pay for information and education by obtaining reading rights to a paywalled article.
It's no wonder the oligarchs want to burn books.
Blake- It should be open to all. We're trying to diagnose why some people aren't able to access. If it's safe, can you let us know which browser you're using? Thank you.
Yeah I can't say for sure if it was just Chrome, but everything seems to be in working order now, knock on wood. Please do flag if you run into any issues and it's safe to do so. Thank you!
Often people attempt to access your site using social media, which is an extra firewall issue. I’m here to support literally every publication in this country. I’m growing weary of the backlash. Of course, I’m a former reporter, so there you go.
Emily- It's supposed to be open but we're getting some reports that it's popping up with the paywall and we are trying to figure out what's happening. Can you tell me what browser you're using?
Marlee, I feel from the tone of your messages that you care and are trying. I use Chrome. I have reluctantly just opted for a subscription so that I can follow this from the paper of record on hand. We have family in LA. They have evacuated. But we care deeply and trust you will remove the paywall.
Marc- If it's safe where you are, can you let me know what browser you're on? Our fire coverage is outside of the paywall and we haven't been able to replicate the issue so I'm trying to gather as much information as possible.
I'm safe, but I'm on the entire other coast. We've only got wind and cold here. So if it's location-locked, you'll need a CA resident. If it's working on CA iPhones using the browser within the Bluesky app, that'd be my assumption of the kicker.
