When I was in driving school, they had a big sign with an old woman driving a car and the text "kör som en kärring!" (roughly, "drive like a hag!") because old women, statistically, are in the fewest car accidents. They drive defensively!
Show me a car driver (motorist) that follows road laws.
I try it when I drive and face rage every time. I hate driving because of all the recklessness and self centred actions
as a school bus driver and bike commuter who has been almost killed by a driver and hit multiple other times; i am the best driver on the road. As a drivers ed instructor I'll say "im Jane, and im going to teach you how to be a better driver than your parents"
h/t to D.Boon and the Minutemen who way back in 1984 responded to the Sammy Hagar song "I Can't Drive 55" by saying "driving fast isn't rebellion. Drive safe and play dangerous music" https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=v8ebtAYQADM
I like to try and follow the rules every drive, because in my head when I do it I have achieved the ✨Perfect Drive✨, and it releases endorphins when I do it
As a former school bus driver, I can confirm you get the finger for stopping traffic and picking up the kids. Why is everyone so angry, and in such a hurry?
Yup sure is. In Burnaby BC 🇨🇦 where I live actually stopping at a stop sign is the biggest failure of drivers. Brakes locked and car NOT moving. Almost impossible to recognize.

* Bicycle riders who don't follow 100% of the rules to the letter 100% of the time.
* Other vehicle drivers who DO follow 100% of the rules to the letter 100% of the time.

Do you give into peer pressure or do you go the school zone speed limit?
Even the cops around here don't do that.
They face so much aggressiveness from other drivers that it makes them experience a tiny bit of what it is to be a cyclist.
... I don't think I've ever actually seen a driver do either thing.
I think it’s the only time I’ve ever heard her swear. Still good advice though.
