When you are doing media early on a Sunday morning and your son comes in from a night shift with a McDonald's breakfast for you. First steps, exam results, first jobs all made me proud but really felt this morning I'd nailed raising a good human.

It’s a great first job. As a former GM of 30 yrs, I say well done! If it’s a decent franchise, he’ll take good values and habits with him to bigger and better things.
No! You never raised him he matured and as he did so you guided him. By your report he took your words and examples of guidance as his own pattern to follow through his life.
This morning he was in his own way saying thank you mum, love you.
Yes! He is a decent Human Being.
Thank you for your more considered and polite response. I appreciate a lot of what Jess does and was not being (intending to be) snide. If I offended her, I would apologise.
Try this: I am tired of people like you constantly getting at women like Jess, who does so much to really improve people's lives, often putting herself at risk. She made a personal and 'proud Mum' post. And you replied with a snide little remark. With zero kindness. So, next time, just shut up?
Hope your keeping well looks like the musk monster is interested in looking at the USA treasury and doing Nazi salutes , he has the attention span of a fly . Glad you’re raising what sounds like a great son .
It’s actually nice to see a member of the government whose kid is doing shift work rather than getting paid 6 figures to work in their constituency office or sell shit PPE to the NHS.
Now that’s a well raised thoughtful Son !Looking out for his mum .
He must know you well .
Hope the media round goes well .
Keep up the very good work you are doing Jess .
Especially giving a voice for those that are not heard or listened to .

The good human bit.... few events recently due to challenging family health and relationship issues etc when my daughters have both, in very intuitive and personal ways, shown themselves to be good humans.
More than anything in my life this makes me proud.
So your appirations of your son's accomplishments are high.
And so far achieved.
But as a older and cynical person still wish him and you continualling joy for the future in this more challenging times.
To my surprise, my son displayed caregiving skills about a decade ago when my mother broke her pelvis. Now that I'm in hospice, he is my full-time caregiver. He told me "It's a privilege to take care of you." Who says that to their dying mom? Good humans.
He sounds like a considerate chap. Maybe he doesn't realise that McDonald's are complicit in war crimes through their support for the IOF. Like your boss...
I am so glad you raised this, to offset the sicky sweet sticky stuff from Jess's post. McDonald's is presumably oozing blood, and so are Starmer, Lammy, Jess and the lot of them.
😀 Well done you.
If only kids realised earlier that making parents proud of them is a relatively easy task, the world of teenagerism would be so much better.. is there an app for that?
It's so simple but mine won't get it. He's about to miss out on a car because he won't show the tiniest bit of initiative or gumption around household chores or looking after his bike. Maddening.
Update: Apparently they do not expect to get up in time for a McDonald's breakfast at any time during the next 3 years (although to be fair it's a Campus Uni and two buses would be required)
That's so nice. This morning I'm sat here worried and scared of what is going to happen to me when you and the rest of your New Tory party bring in your new measures to starve and torture the sick and disabled like me.
How are you supposed to do that? If you are using an iPhone or Android device to post here then you’re causing royalty payments to be made to Israeli companies for their intellectual property.
Good humans come from good humans, Jess. I don’t know how you carry on with the amount of flack you get but thank you for doing so. You’ve set an amazing example to your lovely boy
Congratulations.
It's a nice feeling, and it gets better yet.
The adult and adult bairn relationship is the absolute BEST.
The teenage years can be terrible for our bitten tongues as we choose our battles wisely.
It's worth it when you're getting chauffeured to lunch with someone you really like.
ah but what is your maccies breakfast order. Making me want one now 😂 if it doesn't include the hash browns you're doing it all wrong. Get a bacon roll with ketchup, put 2 hash browns in it, and thank me later.
Because you are one too. But you need to sort out who the Labour alliance will be with - the EU or Trump’s America. There is no middle ground on this one. As we will soon find out. And don’t put all your faith in AI. I know a good deal about it, and it isn’t the saviour Labour think it is.
Sorry no, I won’t. I respect her and that’s why my first message was in support. I’ve worked in the beast for too long to know that she, like the rest of Labour needs to wake up. If it’s a Sunday, so be it.
Yep, absolutely , I can see that as well, but people do work at McDs and to undermine that with snippy inferences is unfair, I see often people knocking the youth as being lazy, workshy etc, in our day you could get a job for life if that's what you wanted, we were lucky...

Everything sings justifiably proud mum of a great lad. The MacDonalds bit. Not him working there obvs.
Couldn't he have stopped at Greggs and got baguettes or something. Plus their ketchup is better.

Just occasionally, give it a rest.
If not disown him immediately! 😂
