When they ended the regulatory state via Supreme Court and allowed all of these "settled issues" to be readjudicated, it opened the door for this abuse and more. The free internet is now dead, lol..
I remember signing those petitions in HS to save net neutrality.
Why the fuck has this been such a fucking retarded back-and-forth? The internet isn't supposed to be some heavily monetized lump of fuck to be raped into the ground.
Fucking stop trying to squeeze every last red cent out of the customers, America. God damn.
And so begins mobster criminal censorship of the Internet by pretending they're 'setting the internet free' while simultaneously enacting rules that will actually censor and throttle the internet if it shares information the criminal mobster doesn't like while pushing the narrative he wants.
They're attempting to introduce Net 2.0, this is the first portion in a series of plans to strip the Internet of the freedoms we all enjoy. Donald wasn't playing when he said it was attempting to take us back to the 1700s... -ONE.💯😂😂😂
Just know if they gain control of the Internet -- they'll be able to push whatever agenda it is that they so choose. Something kinda sorta the equivalent to this... -ONE.💯
🗣These are the steps taken prior to totalitarianism. They slowly begin to take over public resources. A major reasoning for this is to that the information within the country can't get out during an uprising. All communication is SHUT DOWN. -ONE. 💯
🗣I don't think this is gonna go exactly the way they think it's gonna go... Americans are too used to the freedoms that they hold dear. If you make them uncomfortable they're going to react in ways that aren't so good. -ONE.💯
Let me let a few of yall know something bout me up here. I'm NOT to be PLAYED with. Don't come from Twitter or X & bring that bad vibe with you. I'm the type of individual that requires an "EXPLICIT CONTENT WARNING LABEL". It can get REAL nasty for you REAL quick. I'll make you cry... -ONE.💯😂😂😂
I'm minding my bidness commenting on things that require intellect & mental agility. You don't want my other side... Of this I can ASSURE YOU. -ONE.💯😂😂😂
This is honestly one of many reasons why capitalism can’t be “contained”.
Greedy corporations always have to have more money than they need, and they’ll gladly gut any social safety nets if it means stealing more money from the workers.
Okay then, it’s time for people to stop as much as humanly possible, buying from ANY of the major corporations and try and support locally owned and operated private businesses!
Not likely to happen. A LOT of people are struggling to make ends meet, and do not have the disposable income to help local businesses at the expected standard of quality and living.
Part of this is because of regulatory capture and de-regulation of large corporations.
And that comment along with, “ I can’t protest ______, or I’ll lose my job” are the biggest reasons Americans have found themselves screwed. Big box stores are not always cheaper, and most folks don’t have them in their neighbourhoods, but they do have bodegas, segundas and other local businesses.
(...and less important in the grand t, but here I am with a media literacy graphic novel I finished writing over the summer, art locked &can't change now, and two different sections on the fight to win net neutrality, one in the journalism chapter and one in the media economics chapter.)
Just another day in the global far right power grab. I sure wish that people who had the power to stop this had listened to us over their own hubris before it was too late.
its on RBG for not retiring earlier and libs who defended her decision to die from a COVID superspreader event while on the bench, its on biden who refused to expand the supreme court or curtail its power, or grant statehood to DC/PR/Guam to secure a democrat win for 2024, dems selecting KH, etc etc
We are so jacked. The next four years promises to be the longest four years ever seen by the human race. Like riders on Einstein's train, time slows down as we pick up speed, in this case downhill.
What a fantastic idea. Because we all know that removing all regulations results in greater competition and is a win for consumers. Right????? What could possibly go wrong?
This is not a "win" for Trump, early or otherwise. It is not a win for anybody. Some rules and guidelines are just good policy, like net neutrality. They protect us. I give up trying to make sense of the absurdity and farce of actions like this court decision. It's very much against the common good.
Not if they hold monopolies on those services which most ppl require to live and/or work. These corps do this because the govt refuses to punish them (bc of corruption) which happens bc we don't punish the govt. Voting, with our wallets or otherwise, isn't working anymore. It hasn't for a long time.
Most people don't have options when it comes to their internet service. If they're lucky enough to have options, it's also pretty likely that both services engage in the same anti-consumer activities.

Congress needs to put their foot down and drag their sorry asses into the senate and house for a good talk about impeachment.
Bravo, America.

The solution is abolishing capitalism
Anybody with a dumbtech printer or hand-cranked mimeograph is going to be very popular.. at least until those become illegal.
Part of this is because of regulatory capture and de-regulation of large corporations.
mark my fucking words, its high-tech segregation.,

Now they're getting rid of net neutrality at absolute worst time:
-Local news: decimated
-Journalism: in crisis
-Disinformation: everywherr
-Social media/digital commons: structurally enshittified
-Govt: fascist

What we need is a government who’s capable of regulating and actually gaf about citizens.
Sorry to say. We are fucked.
