I wanna know what $725 socks feel like. Do they say good morning and jump on my feet? I mean, my 20 dollar Allen Edmonds socks feel pretty good, but do these socks make me brunch and rub my shoulders?

This is a great country, Tom. We have socks for billionaires. Granted, they're a bit steep for your budget. But we're a tiered society. You must simply sell more books, Tom. A lot more books. Because wait'll you see the price of these socks after tariffs.
I bought my husband Prada socks once but at Bloomingdale’s on sale. But they were cashmere and a third of the price. Are they adding the tariff pricing to this? They probably are imported from Italy.
no, you don't. there'll be no going back. you'll be forced into a depraved life of crime to support your $725 sock problem. regular socks will make your skin crawl, the shame of your own flirtation with a Prada sock like a phantom limb, painfully contorting itself in your regular priced shoes
In my experience, they will probably have an irritating toe seam or some other issue. Nothing that expensive is ever worth what it costs. You're paying for feelings of superiority.
Yes, they are just like the smartwool brand socks but much less expensive. There was only one year they were inferior, must have used a different supplier, but then they went back to being really good again.
PS, they only come out in the fall and stick around until they sell out. I usually get a few packs at a time so I have some in reserve. I only wear cotton socks in summer.
I'm trying hard to imagine what could plausibly make me spend my entire clothes budget for something like two and a half years on a pair of socks. Can being rich be a form of psychosis? I'm pretty sure those socks cost that much because that's how you get rich people to buy them.
Like stupid rich rather than Warren Buffett rich. Maybe there's a way to not have your brain eaten by money, but it works more like a freakish immunity to an apocalyptic zombie virus than something you can prevent with vaccines and good hygiene.
I once bought a pair of socks at Harrod's, they were one of the best I ever had, but got lost in the wash, and the next time I was in London, Harrod's had discontinued them. 😢
You are not supposed to wear them and make them dirty. You just frame them, like you would a banana, and auction your art off for 6+ mil. But if you do wear them, you need to dry clean the socks after each use, not even wash them by hand.
I actually knew a guy that never wore his underwear or socks but once.
He would throw them away and just bought more.
That's 30 pair of underwear and socks every month.
True story.
The first time I put on a pair of merino wool socks they felt like a little pillows from heaven in my boots. They came in a care package sent to me in Iraq from a friend, a 22 yr Army vet. I don't need $725/pair socks.
Some people have so much money they don't know what to do with it, so they spend it on idiotic things like socks. I sort of get why some women by 5 figure (even 5?) figure bags because they are on display and everyone sees the label. But socks?
I buy like four dozen pairs of the same socks—same color, same size and fit—to make it easier to keep them sorted. With these socks that would be $34,800.00. 😂 Also, I’m guessing these socks are not made to be worn year round and probably would last. Maybe Musk could afford these…
I was expecting cashmere and silk for that price but these assholes are charging $725 for COTTON KNIT SOCKS? I mean, give me $700 and six skeins of cotton sock yarn and I’ll make some in about a week. I’ll even size it perfectly to your foot if you send me the measurements. WTF.
Reminds me of John Travolta and the milkshake in Pulp Fiction? What exact comfort do you receive for the $715.00 difference you don’t get from a $10.00 pair?
I'm pretty sure each sock has a microchip & exoskeleton embedded. They push your sock drawer open, hop out and walk over to you, at which point they lovingly slip on your feet like a pair of soft kid gloves.
As the Chinese factories have been pointing out lately, a lot of times this designer stuff is made from the exact same materials in the exact same factories. The only difference is, they put a little branding on it and charge hundred of dollars more.
Actually that is how it used to happen & the cheap stuff is the "knockoffs". After a shift ended, "they" would go in & do a clandestine run. The designers wised up
I don’t have Prada socks, but I do have some Prada clothes and bags. It really depends, I have a coat of theirs which is amazing, but those socks probably don’t feel much different than normal socks.
You'll need to sit with your legs crossed and pant leg hiked up to make sure people notice you're wearing Prada socks--and that sounds like more work than anyone should have to do for socks.
They feel like a reminder that you had $725 to thoughtlessly spend on a pair of rib-knit cotton socks. For some utterly insane people, this is important.
They are specially designed to prevent the wearer from removing their shoes on airplanes. Something to do with how the weave responds to changes in cabin pressure. They also have special fibers that create an audio distortion field specifically tuned to block the sound of Led Zeppelin’s music.

Six pairs for $22. It’s mostly all I wear.
Is Preparation-H made in this country? We are going to need a lot of it after this bend-over. In other words, inflation squared.
Apollo's Torsten Slok covers the tariff full-nelson pretty thoroughly. His daily is worth subscribing to.
Because it's your plane.
Are these socks self propelled?
Does wearing them grant the wearer eternal life and prevent athlete’s foot?
He would throw them away and just bought more.

True story.
I learned something today.
I buy $16 Bombas for my husband and think I'm being extravagant.

Perhaps airlines should distribute these to their passengers instead of earphones…
But probably way better knowing that they’re super expensive.
The human mind is funny like that.
I know we all like nice things, but you have to be next level rich douche to buy these
They also have heating & cooling capabilities.
