take a stop the bleed course. get to know your neighbors. Organize in your community. learn about storing food and filtering or otherwise obtaining fresh water. explore radio / ham comms. learn about disaster preparedness. Volunteer.

I will say that I have a group of friends that are all either licensed or getting licensed and they’re probably the coolest people I know. There’s also some cool people on the ham radio feed on here. Same with the SWLing feed!

The former seems to be Robert's advice more than the latter. Ideally, community won't require "government" & not need surviving.
Gov is hired & the employer refuses to fire bad employees.
Agree & community is a social solution to a social problem. Disagree & community is a governmental solution to an oppression problem.
The laws against it have kept me from it, but fuck it, laws don't seem to matter anymore. And I have enough wooded property, let's moonshine!

I've been to some riots when first aid skills helped people.
In every riot I've been to, people with a sub-7 or sub 6 minute mile had a huge safety advantage. For people in average shape sub-7 is an achievable goal.
I have never heard anyone say that when riot cops were charging at them and firing less lethals.
I had ankle surgery and refuse to go to a protest until I can run.
But anything that goes past dusk is looking riskier every week.
