@metacritic.bsky.social Hey, I know you guys can't read/check all the reviews for things before you put approve them for your site but now would be a good time to STOP letting Dualshockers reviews onto your site unless you want less people to use your site as a source for professional review scores
Whenever someone brings up sweet baby inc like this I find it humorous as they’re just a studio from Montreal with less then 20 employees that just so happened to work on a bad game to end up getting treated like the anti-Christ
don't want to be too harsh here but I do think understanding the basics of how consultancy works should probably be one of the bars to clear to being a respected critic
It’s always funny that people act like consultants are always listened to. I know a couple of consultants for the film industry on sensitivity and you’d be surprised at how many times they flag a problem and no one listens.
I will echo this. You would be surprised how many meetings I’ve had with developers in Japan flagging egregious issues for western players and they just don’t see it as a problem. Thankfully sometimes though, they do listen.
You don’t know awkward until you are a white guy standing in a room full of Japanese men, telling them that you probably shouldn’t make the black character creator option look like black face.
Looks like the remark is already erased. But something about the whole review feels weirdly mechanical. Not accusing anyone of using AI here, but there's an air of "How do you do, fellow RPG fans" here.
Also: "However" is used seven times in the article, often badly.
Even putting the "Sweet Baby" comments aside, the number of mistakes (including multiple -- all incorrect -- ways of saying "die-hard fans") makes me feel like this has never been anywhere near anyone who even knows what the word "Editor" means.
That outrage farming culture getting spilled into outlets associated with actual journalism is just sad. Some influencers really want a climate where a game without proper culture war callbacks or not following the latest newspeak will get negative points.

I’m afraid to ask where this is written.
This is getting so tiring lol
Yep… things are a bit different here sometimes.
Cool cool cool
