To be pedantic It's for difference kinds of reasons since they're arresting people for writing opeds and what they post. It's not for a lack of trying they would love to dissappear dissenters and charge people with terrorism.
It might be over, but I was the only one wearing a T-shirt from @thebulwark.bsky.social at Seattle Center. I'm progressive, but I love Sarah, JVL, Tim, Saletan, Bill, Mona, Sam, etc...
They’re wrong, yes, but not necessarily because they called it wrong. This looks more like an attempt to craft a course, to force out population & our thinking along certain lines.
I'm not setting foot in the USA ever. But I'm going to have to deal with the fucking mess in a different way. It would be nice to see weekly protests. Even the worst people in Canada shut down a city.
All these companies. They only cared about “woke” because they wanted to appeal to young people - aka the future. But that didn’t change on Nov 5th. Youth! Still the future!
By bending the knee, these companies and elites bought at the peak. He’ll only get less popular. Shrewd move, brain geniuses.
The Trump administration is not saying "gee, people seem upset. I guess we were wrong, let's just rehire ALL the USAID staff and put a 100 billion dollars BACK into the Department of Education."
What are these protests supposed to achieve, in a practical sense, in a timely manner?
I'm not saying not to protest. I just want to know what to expect the outcome to be.
Each protest may lead to larger protests. Larger and larger. If literally 100,000,000 protestors were out there, what would Stephen Miller do differently?
Ah yes that’ll work. Not like A) Dems try that before twice and that failed because Republicans still had the Senate. B) Republicans have a trifecta and have a sunk cost fallacy with Trump so any impeachment attempt is laughable. C) With all that aside, the impeachment process is notoriously hard.
You’re right, it most likely won’t work. But it doesn’t change a few facts, 32% of Americans love his orange ass. I’d say that is unlikely to ever change. I’d say about that number thinks he belongs in jail. That number is increasing.
Where is this "resistance"? Some people wandered around a few US cities on Saturday. Look at those same streets today. Where are they now? Vanished into nothingness.
I'm relieved that NYT's desperate effort to manifest the end of resistance failed, but I don't think I'd find joy in reminding myself how hard they worked at it.
I think some people may have been tired of the opportunistic breathless punditry that had us waiting for four years on the marshal of the senate to unveil the holy guillotine and end it all. But yeah, resistance is both inevitable and necessary. Maybe we'll have learned something from the last time.

"You're the only one really upset about this.
No one else will join you.
You might as well give up"
Yesterday was awesome
More to come

I hope I'm completely totally entirely stupidly incorrect.
Millions bemoan what they consider a lack of strong opposition to the president

THEY would rather that we all concede.
